From old tasting notes. Slightly buttery malt nose. Lovely small bubbles lead to a moderate creamy beige head. Nutty malt flavor upfront, becoming hoppy and assertive in the finish. Tasty, lingering aftertaste. Excellent of its type.

Bottle from... not sure actually. Amber and clear with a tiny bit of head. Tiny bit of aroma as well, but there’s a bit of flowery hop that’s quite agreeable. Sharp bitterness without being over the top. A very, very basic bitter but it’s actually quite drinkable.

Quizas algo insipida para ser una IPA. Color ambar oscuro, intenso.

Matured on Oak barrels.

500 ml bottle in Wiveliscombe England. Pours a clear medium tan with small white head that lasts. Aroma is subdued and slightly soapy. Some pine and citrus on the nose. Moderate carbonation gives lively mouthfeel. Punchy hop bitterness, mostly on the fore palate. Solid malt backbone but does not quite balance the hops which dominate. Solid abv helps to give this IPA a lift. Medium body with a slightly soapy texture. Not all that bad for a mega brewer.

CAS- "#Scotland has whisky. #Detroit has cars. #Burton has #beer. And we´re the oldes breare in Town" (#Escocia tiene whisky. Me pareció bastante normal. Marston’s 61 Deep (Cask & Keg)
Handpull cask at the Hereward, Ely. Light gold, pretty much clear, a foamy white head on top. Light citrus hop in the aroma: grapefruit and lemon. Tastes quite pleasant. It’s sweet and refreshing with a gentle bittering hop that rolls the taste into the long finish. More citrus with a biscuit note in the aftertaste. I found this to be surprisingly enjoyable considering the source, although a bit more personality wouldn’t have gone amiss.

Cask halfpint on Calais-Dover ferry to ease into a Brexit farewAletour April 2017. - Bland, earthy orange marmelade surface flavours hovering over spent Maris Otters (peach ice tea) and a touch of yellow curry Fuggles. Appreciated the mineral gristle despite all probable pasteurising/filtering that goes on at this scale. - All inoffensive, but unusual enough for the continental palate to be lured in, hoping for more punch to the pedigree.

Marston’s Oyster Stout (Bottle/Keg)

Marks & Spencer bottling. This is OK! It’s certainly the original style of IPA rather than the very hoppy style of today’s craft brewers. It is hoppy but in a gentle way. It’s alright!

Pours dark black with a brown fading head and good lacing. Looks nice. Aroma has coffee, mint, roasted grain, oats and hint of the oysters. Taste is sweet, cloying, with bitterness in a medium finish with reasonable body for the ABV. Balanced, but not very exciting and too subtle for my taste.

September 24, 2015 - at Craft (Covent Garden) - 500ml clear bottle from Waitrose - hotel room rate. As Waitrose Sunset Amber Ale. Bubbly clear light amber with a small off-white head. Nutty, sweet, twiggy, meh aroma ... taste follows, less sweet and twiggy, some bittereness of a sort - boring amber though. Airy, light body, finishes quick and clean - not bad. Or good.
