Cask @ Fat Cat, Norwich. Hazy dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dark fruit, heavy buttery and light balsamico. Flavor is quite sweet and light sour. Sweet and light sour finish. Really nasty and clearly not what the brewer intended. 180217

Brought up on this so canít knock it. Bottle conditioned somit says. Well to me itís an acceptable bitter I would turn to in an ocean of tasteless lager. Knocking this would be like mugging my Granny.

Marstonís Old Empire (Bottle)
Light golden color with a smallish, somewhat fizzy light tan head. Aromas of caramel, floor malt, butterscotch, light herbs, with some minerals in the background. Pale to lightly caramelized malt in the front. Middle still has the malt going on, but the hops are working their way in. Herbal to minty hop. Quite bitter in the finish and linger with a touch of pepper. Traditional and refreshing. The empire would be pleased. 12/12

Marstonís Resolution / Low C
275ml bottle as part of a gift pack:
Really poor stuff from Marstonís here & probably one of the worst from the brewery that I can remember trying; not an enjoyable beer at all. There was a weak, quite bland feel to proceedings & the taste was definitely lacking, I got some early adjuncts & the odd lager taste but none of this was enough to distract from the skunk bitterness or the cheap feel of the beer; definitely not one to seek out.

Marstonís Strong Pale Ale (Bottle)
Pours copper coloured. I found this tasted abit sick-like. Hard to describe - Iím not sure if its the yeast esters or combination or malt and hops but it had a unusual flavour to it. Other than that it showcases some nice caramel and sweet rounded malt flavours. Aroma mimics taste. The ABV certainly improves this beer, but its not very memorable and I found it quite cloying after abit. I thought the hop flavours were a bit underwhelming and could have done with a bit more to balance the beer out.

Bottle from a local shop, Tallinn. BB 23.07.2017. Clear pale golden with frothy creamy white head that drops rather fast. Aroma and flavour: soft yeasty fruity, toffeeish, earthy. Hops rather subdued. Slightly too watery on the palate; overall not too enjoyable, even with thirst.

Faint, sweetish-malty, a bit roasty and slightly grassy aroma of chocolate, coffee, licorice and a touch of grass. Slightly sweetish, malty, moderately roasty and a bit grassy taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice and hints of hazelnut, followed by a short, medium roasty-bitter, rather dry and a bit grassy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite okay, easily drinkable, not too much flavour though.
