HaandBryggeriet Jordbær
500 ml bottle. Unclear orange body with a huge, creamy white head. Mild strawberry aroma and really not much more. Flavor is light and refreshing with mild acidic with strawberries, then it feels a bit too sweet. Medium body with sweet and sour strawberry aftertaste. Somehow OK in smaller amounts, but I’m not a fan.

HaandBryggeriet Sitron IPA
Slightly hazy golden body with a rather small, off-white head that sticks excellently to the glass. Hoppy and strong aroma of lemon and other acidic fruits, tropical fruits and pale malts. Strong flavour that follows the aroma, but with clear additional notes of coriander. Light sweet and moderate bitter taste. Light and dry on the palate, moderate carbonation. Nice!

HaandBryggeriet Bestefar
Most of the American brewing winter market tends to hearken to the English Strong Ale tradition with brown-colored (and often spiced) catch-all Winter Warmers. HaandBryggeriet Bestefar will make you wish more brewers looked to Scandinavia instead. Bestefar is a brown beer with tons of smoky, savory umami character. It tastes like cured, smoked meat with lots of rich malt to go along with it. It would work beautifully as a companion to the Christmas ham, or it could be enjoyed all by itself as an evening closer. Hard to go wrong with this.

HaandBryggeriet Brakerøya Pils
0.5l bottle from #986. It’s a cloudy one this, almost honey golden colored with a nice shine holding it against the light. A ice medium sized white head safely placed on the top, leaving small dots. It doesn’t smell all that bad either. Quite fruity for a pilsner. Hops actually detected. Peach, hay, some copper and it’s malty also. Not a bad pilsner aroma. It has a strong flavor also. At first a little oxidised, then I get a strange put still pleasant licorice hoppiness. It’s mild oily in the mouth and it’s just above average on the carbonation. Like this much more than I thought before popping the cap. Long grassy almost tail. A well hopped tasty pilsner. Undoubtedly the best one I’ve had this year - if not longer. Nice! 02.12.2016

HaandBryggeriet Haandbic
Piwo warzone jest z udziałem prawdziwych słodów używanych do produkcji Lambic-ów. Leżakowało ono ponad 18 miesięcy w dębowych beczkach, zanim zostało zblendowane i zabutelkowane.
Alkohol: 7% obj.
Batch: 521
Data butelkowania: 04.08.2014
Data ważności: 04.08.2017
Dodatki: Żurawina i porzeczki.
Kolor: Miedziany z czerwonymi refleksami.
Beczka dała minimalne nuty wanilii, trochę dębiny i mokrego drewna.
Resztę zrobiła beczka nadając klimatów dębiny, zbutwiałego drewna i kapką wanilii. Piwo jest niesamowicie pijalne, owocowe, kwaśne i perfekcyjnie ułożone. Nic dodać, nic ująć - tylko degustować.

Pours a deep clear bronze brown body with a small off-white head. Nose is caramel, grains, toffee and hints of dark fruits, banana and faint coca-cola. Taste is grains, caramel, toffee and hints of bread crust, chocolate, faint sulfur and brown bread. Medium body, medium to high carbonation. A fairly straightforward doppelbock on tje dry side of the spectrum; flawless but not overly impressive. Still, it is refreshing to see Haandbryggeriet make such a clean and classic beer style as this for the winter season.

Another Haand tick shared by czar, thanks man! Pours a dark brown with a small beige rim that leaves spotty lacing. Nose is of peat and smoke with some caramel trying to pierce through. Taste doesn’t quite feel sweet but the malt backbone is solid with more peated malt/smoke and some umami. A little more bitter than your usual old ale. Body is pretty much medium and carbonation moderate. Interesting but not overly exciting.

Bottle shared by czar, thanks bro! Pours a reddish brown with a beige rim on top that leaves low/some lacing. Nose is of roasted malt, ash, slight umami and red fruits. Taste is moderately tart and pretty dry with more umami, smoke/ash again and some raspberry impressions. Body is medium, carbonation moderate and it feels vinous. I feared it was going to be over the top acidic (Hello, Haanbakk) but it is not. A pretty good dark sour, not too intense. Could do without the ashy character, though.
