Benelux Session d'Automne
on tap at cactus, qc. hazy if not cloudy very pale gold but bright with a nice creamy white head, bubbly and sticky lacing. tons of citrusy herbalness, lemon-infused tea, lots of fairly bitter grapefruit, some floral greenness, sulphuric at times, soft mineral pine, pale intricate malt bill that is somewhat fairly peppery and spicy without any toastiness, very clean and fruity american yeast action. healthy carbonation, light body - thin but not watery; balanced and dry (as well) spicy-citrusy finish. definitely a quaffable and nice session ipa with controlled aromatics and a autumn feel in the hop bill as opposed to its malt, which is quite fun. quite nice wet hop session.

Benelux Ergot (Triple Saison au Seigle)
Well laced white head on an amber body. Nose is fresh and edgy, with mixed fruit, banana, other fruit esters and sweet malt. Impressive freshness and definition to tastes. Fruit salad, Belgian yeast with banana accents, a light array of spice and touches of booze and floral hops. Nice

Benelux Artisanale Acronyme Saison au Sarasin
A full, well laced white head on a pale, clear light straw body. Nose features spices, Belgian yeast and hint of citrus. This is a robust saison with seasonal spices, a touch of citrus hops, garden herbs and a hint of banana. Crisp and lively with distinct but complementary tastes, punched up by an active effervescence.

Benelux Artisanale, Montreal, Topaz IPA
On tap at the Montreal brew pub location. A solid, pillowy and well-laced white head on a straw body. Evident effervescence. The nose is subtle and understated with light citrus hop notes and sweet malt. In an age of back slappin' monster IPAs, this is a enjoyable, well blended and subtle piece of craft. Iight citrus hop elements lead a delicate hop-first taste profile with lemon, orange and floral notes. The malt is sweet and light. Sustains in balance.

650ml bottle @ Matt's. Pours a semi clear but hazy dark brown colour with a small off-white head. Nose is ample bourbon barrel, toasted malt, and caramel sweetness. Flavour is quite similar, bourbon barrels, toasted malt, and a nice touch of caramel. Pretty good.

Medium brown. No much head. The aroma has some sticky brown sugar malt. Nutty, sweet sugar and nutty, has a complex character.

Benelux Grande Armada Réserve 2015
650mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a reddish tinge and a small off-white head. Aroma brings out light bourbon upfront, followed by red berries and toasted caramel. Flavour is along the same lines, with earthy bourbon barrels, toasted malt and a touch of caramel. Earthy, lightly smoky, and bready on the finish, with a decent alcohol tinge. Not the most cohesive and complex BA beer, but it's reasonably done.

Pours light straw yellow, cloudy with a moderate white top. Aroma is astringent funkiness with wheat and light fruitiness. Taste is light wheat, sharp acidic tartness, light funk and a great sweetness from the brett. Great beer.

Bottle, sent by SlovakSniper (thanks PAt!) and shared with Parksy and others. Deep mahogany brown with a soft light brown head. Tart cherry and leathery wood, light acetic notes, bone dry finish. Delicious, reminiscent of a Flemish red.

On tap at Les Brasseurs du Temps. Earthy hops, brown sugar and apricot make for a pleasing aroma. A deep butterscotch colour with a thin soft white. Earth and citrus hops, rich butterscotch, apricot, and prunes make a well blended BW. Rich, slick, with a slight warmth to it. I'm buyin' what they're sellin'.

October 25, 2015 - Volo Cask Days, Session #5 - gravity cask. Slightly hazy (floaties) amber with a smallish bubbly beige head. Aroma of citrus zest, blood orange and intense floral bitterness (8-). Taste follows, sweeter, decent balance - some alcohol presence for sure. Average body, mild carbonation with a medium-long pungent bitter finish. Very nice, quite appropriate for cask too.
