Ale Asylum Rum Barrel Aged Pantheon
On tap at the source. Muddy brown pour with a beige head. Aroma has rubbing alcohol, sweet malts, some tangy fruit. Taste is of sweet malts, alcohol, sweet malts. Gorjus cannot get past the rubbing alcohol. This need to age, which won't happen for a 'tap only' brew. More than medium bodied, the blend is not good. Finishes sweet and alcoholly. Would have thought the rum would give a nice sweetness over the brown malts in the base, but it didn't blend well. 12.8

Ale Asylum Spawn Series #029
On tap at the source. Pours almost a tan/brown color. A bit off-putting. Aroma is somewhat hoppy, citrus. Taste is hoppy, tangy fruits, some lighter malts. The blend is a bit strange. Medium bodied. Finishes to the light bitter side of bittersweet. This one did not come through as well; not so clean and certainly a more muddled flavor. 13.2

Ale Asylum Spawn Series #026
On tap at the source. Copper pour. Aroma is fruity sweet malty. Taste is of sweet fruits, citrus, sweet pale malts. Medium bodied, the blend is solid but no better. Finishes sweeter than bittersweet. Solid, if a bit limited, effort. 13.6

Ale Asylum HASHalicious
On tap at the source. Orange copper pour. Sweet and tropical fruits. Citrus and pine. Sweet light malts. Nose better than a bit of a muddle in the taste. Sweeter than bittersweet. Shrug? Started nice but faded a bit in the execution. 13.5

Ale Asylum Gold Digger Blonde Ale
On tap at the brewpub. Pale gold, light off-white head. Aroma has light doughy malt and some light fruit. Taste is of light citrus and toasted pale malt. Not much to this. Gorjus says best of the group. Don't think so. 12

Very solid offering from Ale Asylum. Firet beer I have had from the brewer and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to discovering more offerings.

Ale Asylum Contorter Porter
Poured into a pint glass. Little aroma on a medium tan head. Flavor is burnt malt, hints of dark chocolate with a finish that's semi- sweet (wait long enough and slight bitter edge kicks in). Body is just a bit on the thin side for my taste, but overall it's a very decent porter.

Ale Asylum Satisfaction Jacksin
Pours a slightly hazed golden orange on tap with thin bubbly white head that leaves light lace. Aroma of all the citrus, pine, and dank hop notes that come from the 5 Cs, plus some caramel malt to boot. Taste follows, decidedly old school, but well done and tasty. Booze is fairly well hidden by the high bitterness, moderate carbonation. Decent.

Ale Asylum Dr. Vennum
Pours a clear golden orange on tap with fluffy white head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of piney west coast hop notes over a caramel malt base. Taste follows, supremely west coast, supremely old school. It's not bad, just not what I was wanting in an IPA anymore.

Pours a slightly hazy golden orange on tap with fluffy white head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of nice resinous pine notes over a hit of citrus hops, with light biscuit malts and a touch of caramel. Taste follows, moderate bitterness, clean and hoppy. A solid IPA.

A solid offering of the more loved Velveteen Habit. I love the high ABV but at 14.99 a 6 pack I would just buy the non imperial version that still has a kick.

Babadooook!!! Of course Ale Asylum brews a beer based on a horrifying movie. And this IPA is terrifyingly delicious. Firm hop nose, creamy orange color and a dry bitter hop taste.

Ale Asylum Mercy Belgian Grand Cru
Pretty okay beer. Basically sweet with a little bit of Carbonic tent going to hint of bitterness to balance it and not much more. There is no way that this is a Belgian beer that was double fermented.

Ale Asylum Oktillion Oktoberfest
Pours a clear golden with a thin white head that quickly disappears. The aroma fins nuts and caramel, while being both a little toasted and a little herbal. The taste is lightly sweet. The flavors offered are much like the nose, only stronger. Its heavy in caramel and nuts. There is toasted malt, along with lesser impressions of spice and floral hops. Long caramel aftertaste. Its medium in body and has a chewy texture. This one isn't really exciting, but its fine.

Ale Asylum Babadook
Clear, light orange amber colored liquid with a diminished light beige head. Fleshy citrus aromas. Some orange and grapefruit. Mild caramel underneath. Light pale malt start sis swiftly carried away by a raft of citric zest. A little pine sol. A hop forward, spicy to citric hop IPA. Extra point for appearance for the peel away label with “secret” message on the can.

12oz can from local grocery. Pale orange pour with no head. Aroma has juicy fruits, pine and light sweet malt. Taste is of sweet fruits, pine, some citrus, all on a sweet light malty base. Lighter than medium bodied with little alcohol presence, the blend is solid. Finishes sweeter than bittersweet. Tangy, sweet-ish, reasonably tasty. Happy to have an Ale Asylum, but really not a lot to this one. They have far better hoppy efforts. 13.5

Can - Golden pour with a foamy off white head. Nose is bready maltiness with pine and citrus and a bit of dankness. Medium juiciness. Taste is the same with some Juicy Fruit underneath the pine and a slight astringency. Slick, thick, and oily with mellow carbonation.

Ale Asylum Oktillion Oktoberfest
Unique malt profile on Oktoberfest. Pours medium brown. Typical Oktoberfest profile with the following distinction... the malt more deeply roasted then typical giving it a more toasted quality then typical, and a above average hop finish for a drier, less sweet result. Nice.

12oz can. Interesting new school hop tones. I'm guessing Mandarina and Mosaic. Either way, quite juicy and nice. Drinks quite nice for 7.3%. Still has some malt backbone, sort of standard Ale Asylum feel, which is a good thing here. Modern solid beer. Good stuff.

Ale Asylum Mercy Belgian Grand Cru
12floz bottle, no date, $1.50 unit cost as part of a mix-your-own-six, large stem snifter. A head forms a ring and partially covers the murky light-brown body below. Whereas, a boozy aroma releases notes of date and sweet holiday bread. Plum and raisin flavors are tasted on the front end, Then on the back end, its very toasty and has a slick sweetness aftertaste. Bold, but not as spicy as many beers released during the winter. Granted this is most likely from last winter, but it seemingly could be aged a few years.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Pours black color with an average frothy tan head that was lasting with excellent lacing. Medium to heavy toasted chocolate, coffee and yeast aroma. Medium to full body with a thick smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted dark malt flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer.
