Bottle Pours deep orange hue with a nice tight soapy white head and some nice lacing. Nose is really different. Smells like nelson saulvin and Chinook as a hybrid hop. Flavors are big over sweet pineapple candied fruit and big gin like bitterness. Really never had a beer like this. Long finish lingering sweetness and that gin dryness. Very unique and different ipa I havenít wrapped my head around.

Can. A- Fruity esters, wheat, lemon, lavender, soap. A- Yellow color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Banana, bubble gum, clove, lemon, wheat, subtle black pepper. P- Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- A solid representation of the style. Too easy to drink. I donít think I made the can last even a full 10 mins and that was with me trying to take my time to enjoy it. Maybe not my favorite hefe but I could drink this anytime, anywhere.

Ale Asylum Off Switch
From the mixed holiday six pack. Solid hops and yeast aroma prepared me for a bolder flavor than it delivered. Donít get me wrong, itís very drinkable and tasty, just didnít hit me in the face like I expected. Body is also just a bit thinner than expected. Probably one of the sweeter of the DIPAs Iíve had. All that said, itís another very solid beer from Ale Asylum.

Ale Asylum Oktillion Oktoberfest
Bottle, thanks George999! Bready malt aroma with sweet fruity and caramel malt notes. Pours clear golden colored with a thin white head that has little retention or lacing. Starts with sour fruit and some bready malt flavors. Finishes smooth with some caramel malt flavor penetrating the sweet fruity flavors. Pretty good, but this doesnít seem to be an Oktoberfest to me.

Flavour is fairly bitter up front, moderate citrus, lingering bitterness and light alcohol. Average bodied palate, good carbonation. Ale Asylum Gold Digger Blonde Ale
Gold Digger was easily the least impressive thing I had at Ale Asylum. It was the only unimpressive beer I tried. It was consistent with my Wisconsin experience, though. I had 2 Blonde Ales there. They both kinda sucked. Gold Digger is basically a cereal grain bomb. Hardly any hop influence. Fizzy, light-bodied. Every brewery should be allowed one beer thatís designed only to be sold to the masses. True to its name, Gold Digger fills that niche.

Ale Asylum Spawn Series: 014
This SPAWN series release was perhaps the lesser of the enchanting hoppy brews I enjoyed at Ale Asylumís Riverhouse, but it was still plenty damn good. Assertive American-style hop nose: floral, citrusy, and earthy. Dank wet hop taste. Bright and bitter all around. Pine resin and grapefruit peel. Bright, crisp finish. An excellent tasting I owe to the recommendation of the taptender.

Ale Asylum Contorter Porter
Fitting comfortably within the English aesthetic, Contorter Porter offers a lot of malty roastiness yet a generous amount of hops for a pleasant finishing bitterness. Aroma reveals a deep level of roast, almost to the point of being smoky. Caramel, chocolate, and subtle cream flavors. Some hints of fresh coffee. Rich, hearty feel. Is there a style Ale Asylum doesnít do well?

Ale Asylum Velveteen Habit
True to its name, Velveteen Habit makes an aggressive beer style approachable without watering it down. Light shade of orange. Dank floral and tropical hop bouquet. Tangerine, grapefruit, orange, mango, jasmine pearl, and grass flavor makeup. Bright, citrusy finish. Thereís a beautiful balance struck here between the innate alpha bitterness and juiciness of Citra. Itís a beer thatíll make converts, save souls.

Ale Asylum Madtown Nutbrown
Madtown Nutbrown drinks like a bigger beer than it is. Thatís definitely not something you can say about most American Brown Ales. This one has richness, creaminess, and yes, nuttiness. Attractive garnet pour with sweet malty smells. Chocolate, caramel, and vanilla flavors. Velvety smooth mouthfeel. Shit, Ale Asylum even does Brown Ales well.

Ale Asylum Satisfaction Jacksin
I for one have done plenty of jacksin in my life, but little of it has come close to offering the tropical, sticky pleasures provided by this Ale Asylum offering. Ruby red appearance. There seems to be all manner of Northwestern American aggression in here. Garlic and onion, sharp citrus, fruit pith, dank herbs, and pine. Yet, beneath all the spice and bitterness, Satisfaction Jacksin has a sweet side. Tropical fruit and even some flashes of honey and caramel. That 8.25% ABV is handily concealed, though. Does Ale Asylum ever waste hops? Apparently not.

Ale Asylum Demento Session Pale Ale
To me, the best Session IPAís would be perfectly passable as just regular IPAís. On that criteria, Demento absolutely fits the definitions. Thereís so much crispness and aggression in here. Itís wonderful to behold (and taste). Aromatics reveal a big herbaceous note with a big nod to eucalyptus. Zesty citrus all the way back to the soft palate. It doesnít scale back on bitterness - always a wise choice. Session or not, Demento offers a steady barrage of American cones.

Ale Asylum ‹nshadowed
Itís becoming increasingly clear to me that having great German beer without leaving the states means going to Wisconsin. Unshadowed was something of a strange deviation in a night spent enjoying the hoppiest goodness Ale Asylum could throw at me. This beer is yellow with a fine layer of white foam. Notes of banana, clove, coriander, and bubblegum from the yeast phenols. Creamy and dry texturing. A great style representation and easy as hell to drink.

Ale Asylum Ambergeddon
This Amberís balance has an approach thatís simple yet effective. Rich caramel malt at the start, Earthy, resinous hops at the finish. Just a bit above the medium body range in terms of feel and lots of crispness at the end. If I had my way, about every Amber Ale would taste like this.

Ale Asylum Bedlam!
It seems like the Belgian-style IPA is becoming every brewerís pet project, but Ale Asylum makes it a thing of beauty. Bedlam! pours a gold color and has a pungent, fruity nose. It starts off bright and bitter with grapefruit and passion fruit. It gradually transitions more toward spicy and bready toward the finish but the bitterness remains. Crisp, dry textures. Excellent.

Ale Asylum Madtown Nutbrown
Poured into a nonic pint, the appearance was a rugged semi-dark brown color with a fingerís worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Sly messy lacing. The aroma starts with some roasted nuts, coffee, bread, subtle caramel and earthiness. The flavor balances crisp sweet to earthy to roastiness. All combining in the aftertaste and the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Good carbonation. Overall, good brown ale that leans English in its style.

Ale Asylum Contorter Porter
Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a nice one fingerís worth of white to off white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Sly lacing. The aroma starts with some roasty coffee and cocoa bean. Some dried dark cocoa powder fluffs it up a bit. The flavor balances nicely between the sweet and the roast. Sly crisp sweet to roasty aftertaste with a nice sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Low carbonation helps it feel smooth all around. Overall, this was a nice porter worthy of having again.
