Crouch Vale Amarillo
Handpull cask at the Kingston Arms, Cambridge. Deep gold, clear with almost no head. Smells vaguely of citrus and peaches but thereís a spicy/soapy hint. Very bitter throughout and not particularly balanced. The Amarillo hop is left to run rampant. Bitter soapiness in the long finish. Itís alright but quite messy. Too many problems to justify a higher score.

Craft 100. Clapham. Cask. Clear gold beer, thin pale cream colour head. Palate is light and fairly dry, decent fine carbonation. Nice condition. Trace of something sulphurous here, nowt too serious. Mild pale malts. Tangy hops, mild orange - tangerine and a little peel. Light lemon. Dry finish. Decent.

Cask at Den Engel, Leek. A clear pale golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of orange, peach, slight fruit esters, some pale malts and subtle grassy, floral hops. Taste of orange, peach, subtle pineapple, some fruit, slight bready malts and subtle grassy, floral hops. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A sweetish fruity finish with a bready malt aftertaste. A sweetish, fruity beer showcasing the Amarillo hops used. Maybe a little more bitterness but otherwise very sessionable. Good.
