Redd’s Wicked Black Cherry
Can: Clear, deep amber with a short head. Cherry couch syrup aroma. Taste is sweeeeet...black cherry juice, apple. The flavour is actually pretty nice, but after only a few sips the sugar-overload started in... I really wish these and Bud’s Rita’s would just tone it down and try and make a good solid product instead of a blitzkrieg of sweetness and gimmicks.

I have been having trouble finding this beer in stock at one time all that was available was the lager and it is horrible. I boughta case of what stated it was premium and when the case was opened it was lager. Why is it so hard to find in our area

Big can from Jacksons, on closeout no less. This was supposed to be a joke, but the joke was on me. In the right environment, this would be very welcome, especially on a hot summer day. Looks , smells and tastes like grape Kool-aid. No more, no less. So it’s sweet, but not overly sweet, and actually kind of tasty. This scored higher than some other "craft" beers at our tasting.

Tallahassee, Fl - Bradfordville Circle K - theeee place for random ticks - 24 oz can. Light pinkish-red pour. no real head, looks kind of like a beer. Watermelon flavored Jolly Rancher is all I get in the aroma and flavor. Hard to really tell if there is alcohol in this. Sweet, too sticky mouthfeel.

24 oz via can in New Orleans. Mild aroma of grains and corn. Similar flavor, pretty bland and boring with a mildly sweet, malty/grainy finish. Thin and watery on the palate. Pretty much what I expected.

Can. Pours a pale straw body with a very short lived fizzy white head. The nose is a mix of creamed corn and subtle cardboard. The flavor isn’t all that offensive actually when served at fridge temperature. Is relatively clean and fairly light on the corn flavor. Finishes very watery and thin, but it’s of short duration. This is actually a little better than expected. The coldness probably helps some, but if drink this over many other pale lagers.

Redd’s Peach Ale
Tallahassee, Fl - Publix Supermarket - Southwood - 12 oz bottle. Sparkling, still, light golden pour, no real had. Aroma has some peach flavoring accents, not very natural, but not unpleasant. Flavor runs along the same lines, peachy flavored, hints of apples in the back end. One dimensional. Mouthfeel leans to the thin side.

33 ml. bottle. Very clear straw-coloured with a quickly disappearing thin head. Aroma is almost inexistent: some malt and cereal I guess. Hay and rice flavour (which is unpleasant sometimes) with a boring sweetness and a light sourness. Hints of bitterness in aftertaste. Light body, thin texture and average carbonation. Watery mouthfeel. Somewhat astringent finish. No, thank you.

16 oz. can. Six pack for $3.99. This pours a very clear golden yellow with a lively carbonation and thin white head which quickly dissipates. The aroma is clean and the taste is very light with very little malt character. That is no wonder, since this is yet another beer brewed by Miller from high fructose corn syrup. They produce one beer with many names such as Hamm´s, Pabst, Old Style and Old Milwaukee. You will notice that a beer like Miller High Life contains much more flaked corn rather than HFCS because you can taste the residual sweetness from the corn, but this beer is very dry. They would also seem to be saving money by not adding as much of the foam enhancer propylene glycol alginate to these beers as opposed to their "Miller" named brands. All in all, these beers are clean and just fine as thirst quenchers.

Aroma: Too subtle, probably cereal Appearance: Golden color with clear liquid and minimal white head. Taste: Medium sour notes with light bitterness Palate: Light body with thin liquid and average carbonation. Long sour finish. 12 ounce can. Pours a very clear, light yellow with a white head. The head retention is good, but this is due to the foam enhancer which Miller uses called propylene glycol alginate (food grade, of course!) The aroma is extremely clean. The flavor is full of corn sweetness with low hop bitterness. The carbonation is quite lively and refreshing. All in all, a very solid adjunct (not all malt) beer which is a great thirst quencher. In the realm of international lagers, this is a very good one. I often hear the craft beer snobs criticise and denigrate beers like this, but they are very wrong because they refuse to accept the consistently high quality of a beer like MGD simply because it does not fit their taste profile.

This beer was great at 5.5 ABV but since they raised it to 6.5 it’s NASTY! They should have left well enough alone because they already have "EDGE" the high alcohol alternative. Besides, not everyone wants to see double after a few bottles.

Steel Reserve Alloy Series Spiked Watermelon 211
Watermelon pink color with a definite aroma and taste of watermelon candy. As most would say, like a watermelon jolly rancher. This is another kids beer that can’t be taken too serious. It’s cheap and it packs a punch, perfect for teen parties where everyone wants to just get hammered. If this was available when I was a teen I probably would have chugged my share but being much older I am just not interested that much in kids beer.

12 ounce can. Pours a very clear light yellow with a white head. Miller uses a foam enhancer called propylene glycol alginate in its beers so you really cannot judge the foam retention. The aroma is nice and clean, the taste is very sweet and there is a good deal of flaked corn aftertaste. All in all, a very good example of a pale American lager. Served cold, this is a refreshing beverage.

By far the most frightening bottle of the night. The following is a compilation of a dozen peoples’ thoughts who shared this brew with me at my first (and perhaps last?) Malt Liquor Dexterity Games Tournament to celebrate my birthday. Keeping in mind that most of the participants are not regular beer raters, here we go: hazy gold, clear, harshly industrial, very strong chemical/solvent character, this made me gag (not joking), the base of cheap aftershave, Richard Dawkins would approve, old english ass, starts bad and gets worse, what the actual fuck? really? hobo approved, this brings me back... actually no it doesn’t.
