Stone Enjoy After Brett IPA
The yeast is prominent in the aroma and you can definitely taste the funk as well. But itís smooth, a bit spicy, with tart citrus hovering in the background. My first two year-old IPA. I liked it.

Stone RuinTen Triple IPA w/ Orange Peel & Vanilla Bean
Bomber. Juicy orange aroma with notes of vanilla, grapefruit citrus and some pine resiny hop flavors. Pours cloudy orange colored with a large off white head that has has excellent retention but little lacing. Starts with juicy orange and grapefruit hop flavors. Finishes dry with nice vanilla flavors with a little bit of pine resiny bitterness that lingers slightly on the palate. Very nice twist on this delicious IPA.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop was served at a cool temperature and poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were and left behind a typically carbonated body transparent yellow orange colored body and a very good lacing. The weak aroma was mild hop. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish citrus aftertaste. The yummy flavor contained notes of citrus dough hops and malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

Stone Go To IPA
Whenever an amateur American beer drinker wants to sound enlightened he will..(whilst chugging his Carlsberg) claim that Stone is the only beer worth drinking in the US. So, because of this I am happy to get hold of a can, albeit at an extortionate 125nt from the local 7-11 in Taipei ( beers of the summer) . The nose suggests it will be bitter and hoppy. I get grapefruit, bitter hops and blood orange. The pour is good, it is a light lemony colour with a frothy head....Sort of reminds me of McEwanís Best Scotch ( the head I mean). The flavour is American hops all over. Bitter on the tongue and zesty. It is almost tonic-wateresque but in a palatable way ( I hate tonic water ). It is a little watery and the bitterness is sharp but fleeting and not as full flavoured as say a Sam Adams would be. One major plus is it isnít 6% + which most American IPAís seem to claim is the norm. I once had a debate with an American about the strength of American IPAís. He claimed English IPAís were weak and understrength. Given we invented the beer I feel my argument was justified that Americanís see IPAís as a hostile ABV war that take no prisoners unless it is pushing 7%. They also think the more hop the better. In this case tho, it is hoppy, bitter and drinkable. I do know now to tell the novice American drinker when he tells me the virtues of Stone that in fact it is not that great and most high end IPAís are in fact as good if not better.

Stone Tangerine Express IPA
10th June 2017
Hazy orange - gold beer, good cream colour head. Nice fresh tangerine and candy tangerine nose. Palate is light, mildly dry and has mild minerally carbonation. Light malts bring a light creamy sweetness. Good bright tangerine which morphs into tangerine peel which gets slightly bitter. Piney tangerine and orange and a trace of lemon on the finish. Mild bitter linger. Very nice, simple but bright and does what it says on the tin.

Stone Old Guardian - Pekko Dry-Hopped
(650ml 2016 bottle from Systembolaget) Pours a nearly clear mahogany with a big frothy dark cream head that lingers very well and leaves massive lace. Aroma of sweet dessert bread and fruit cake, toffee, stewed stone fruits, leafy, slightly herbal, raisins, orange peels, a slight black tea vibe that might be power of suggestion... Flavour is fairly sweet initially and the ends dry and rather bitter. Toffee, candied oranges and plums, toasty grain, peppery herbal hops, sweet fortified wine-type raisin notes, slightly nutty, with over-steeped tea in the finish along with some citrus peels and a little alcohol warmth. Medium-bodied, lightly viscous but not syrupy, with soft to average carbonation. The hoppy notes are not particularly prominent, probably due to a year of cellaring as much as the original formulation. That being said, itís a solid variant of a solid base.

From a can. Pours a dark, clear orange body and makes a 2 finger white head with a small amount of lacing. Aroma is a bit dank with a malty/hoppy/grainy smell. Another winner for Stone. Not too overpowering, but a bit too strong to be sesssionable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Stone Mocha IPA
Hazy amber pour with a two finger, creamy off white head that has great retention and leaves a little lacing. Aroma is earthy and chocolatey coffee, toffee, lots of juicy citrus hops and light bready and spicy yeast. Flavor is coffee and chocolate up front, toffee, earth, planty, citrus, spicy and light oily grain. Medium body, creamy to chewy entry, medium, sharp carbonation and a dry, but slick finish with a light hop acid bite. Really tasty, interesting stuff. I havenít had many coffee infused IPAs, but this is the most bold example I can think of and it works.

This canned brew from a bottle shop was served at a cool temperature and poured a head of foamy with a frothy top fine to medium sized bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a typically carbonated body hazy light yellow orange colored body and a good lacing. The aroma was malt hop. The semi-sharp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish hoppy aftertaste. The semi-sharp flavor contained notes of hops and malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

Stone Old Guardian - Pekko Dry-Hopped

Dark and clear with some brown lacy head. Smell is very funky, doesnít look it! Lots of oak too, and dark berries/fruits. All those aromas are there to taste. First few sips are mostly sour, probably because itís unexpected, however many more flavours come out further in. Chocolate especially is more and more present throughout the beer. Definitely mocha. Tequila dry-ness at the end goes well with sourness.

Cloudy gold pour with a thin, creamy bright white head. Aroma is sweet cereal, agave, bright citrus, floral, soapy, a hint of lemony wheat, strawberry Zots a hint of sweet grass and light, tart berry notes. Flavor is bright juicy lemon/lime, a hint of tangerine, floral decorative soap, plum, blackberry-ish berry notes, a hint of earthen leafiness, just a touch of mustiness, hints of sweet cereal and wheat, English spicy and fruity esters. Medium-ish body kinda syrupy to juicy feel on entry with a very blanketing, but short lived medium, sharp carbonation, its almost like a mix between a really strong CO2 carbonation and medium NO2 carbonation, odd. Good stuff overall, but the hop notes just donít really do it for me. .
