22 oz bottle from nimbleprop shared with Tmoney99 and the Nine Giant crew and a second bottle shared with drsordr. Pours a hazy golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have big malts, fruit, orange, citrus, pithy, some floral notes, decent hops but doesn’t quite get the bitterness the name alludes to, very solid but I would love to see more bitterness.

Golden orange in color with a lasting, but thin white foam. Strong citrus aroma and flavor that’s sweet orange and tangerine. Bitterness is firm leaving just a bit of sweetness in the finish. The balance on this is really nice. One well constructed DIPA.

Still thin like the base was, but way smoother, and quite a bit better than I remember that one being. Like I said, light palate, but all the usual suspects are there in the nose and flavor, well integrated, if there maybe is a little less pop to them than some bigger stouts. I dug it.

22oz bottle from a NoVA TJoes, pours a darker orange with some frothy, white head. Nose is very nice, grapefruit, orange, some pine and pine sap, a little honey, soap. Flavor follows, it’s not juicy - it’s pithy and dry like a Woody Allen script, piney, soapy, orange and grapefruit rinds, just a little honey backbone. Finishes dry and bitter. I thought this was very well done.

22oz bottle purchased at the local Trader Joes. Poured a clear orange/amber color with a fluffy, medium sized white head. Aroma was lots of grapefruit, grapefruit zest. Tropical fruit notes are more subtle here, with a blast of pine resin. Flavor was very hoppy, pine and resin, grapefruit. Enjoyed this quite a bit. Quite a bit like regular Bitter Valentine.

Aroma of fresh squeezed orange juice. Smells like opening a bottle of tropicana. Super fresh and bright. Taste is like the aroma. Orange juice and a nice hoppy bitterness. Nothing but the amazing citrus taste. No maltiness to ruin the beautiful thing the hops do. Definitely a winner and super drinkable.

AleWerks Marley’s Lament
On tap at Craft 31 in Williamsburg during a much needed surprise afternoon out with the wife. Poured medium amber brown. Aroma was caramel accented malts, a bit of nutmeg and ginger, faint pepsin. Flavor matches, very pleasantly surprised that the focus here was on the excellent base English Strong as opposed to the spicing, which lingered in the background and provided additional interest as opposed to overpowering. Delightfully well done.

Bottle pours with a murky deep copper body that supports a thin near white head. The aroma offers up malty sappy pine hops and little else. The taste delivers a nice blend of bitter pine hops and then sweeter malts. To midway it gets a little floral in hops as well as lingering bitter pine hops. Tasted on the cold side but pretty tasty.
