Schooner Exact Framboyz in the Hood
On tap at Belmont Station, pours a clear pinkish amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out light raspberries and dry fruit skins. Flavour is quite tart, with very tart raspberries, some pith and a little lacto. Not particularly well-balanced, but itís decent.

2015 Vintage. Dark pour with little head retention. Very oak and whisky forward. Caramel malty, dark fruits, fig. Medium full bodied. I wish the barrel was an it more restrained since it overpowers the rest of the beer. Still, not bad.

Pours a finger of head on a light straw body. Aroma is earthy, dank grapefruit and pine. Taste is piney and dirt. Texture is thicker.

Golden/amber - clear with solid carbonation, a 1 inch off-white bubbly head, receding slowly, leaving a splotchy lacing. Aroma is citrus with a hint of pine. Nicely balanced flavor with citrus, bready malts, some piney bitterness at the front, getting stronger through the middle and into the finish. Moderate feel - not thin, not thick. A nice, but not really remarkable, IPA. I enjoyed it, and would not avoid buying it. No specific faults, just kind of middle of the pack.

Schooner Exact Barrel Aged Imperial Porter
Bottle @ Lingua tasting, shared late after some hefty beers which may skew perceptions a bit. Pours near black with nice lacing. Roasty aroma, and savoury flavour, dark chocolate, soy, roasted malt, coffee. Had a booziness which tended to grow, showing some tart tannic oak, some chocolate. Perhaps lacked a full body to back up the heft of flavours but was smooth. Nice overall.

Just a big pungent hop bomb. Some very nice late hopping aromatics with a definite WC/EC hybrid vibe. Light body for the ABV and dangerously drankable.

Very intense tangerine and mandarin oranges in the nose with caramel and pink grapefruit sitting passively in the background. The citrus character in the nose is fantastic. The mouth is more like drinking tangerine, grapefruit and caramel juice. Potent. Deep but not overly bitter and much more malt focused in the mouth compared the nose. Love the hop character on this. Great.

Tap at brewery. Not a whole lot of aroma. Bready aroma. Flavor is light citrus, orange, pine. Sort of flat in the middle. Dry on the finish. Lingering bitterness. I dont puck up juicy fresh hops in this.

Bomber pours an almost clear gold with a two finger puffy off-white head and lots of lacing. Aroma is a sweet citrus floral. Taste is a tangy sweet citrus with a mild malt profile. Flavor is excellent. Bitterness is mild, aftertaste lingers.

Schooner Exact Snowpacolypse Black IPA
Bottle:   Dark brown, moderate to large foamy beige head, nice lacing.   Balanced nose of roasted malts and hops.   More roasty than hoppy on the tongue.   Mild bitterness, a touch chalky.   Seems more of a Black Pale Ale.   Clean otherwise.   Moderate body and mouthfeel, albeit leaning towards the thin side.   Soft finish.   Moderate roastiness lingers.   Not a lot of IPA in this Black IPA.   Thankfully it wasnt overly roasty or acrid.   Soft example of the style

Schooner Exact Emerald ISA
Bottle:   Pale orange, faint haze, big fluffy white head, nice lacing.   Soft hoppy nose, fresh, a little like tea leaves.   Similar on the tongue, soft hops, very light bitterness.   Whats there tastes like soft pith and tea leaves.   Smooth, fairly full bodied for an ISA.   Clean finish, lingering pith and tea leaves with only very light bitterness.   Pretty damn good example of the style I must say.

Schooner Exact Amarillo Fresh Hop
Chuckís 85th, Seattle. Darker clear gold, thin foam. Grainy malt body, bready backbone, warm sip. Hops are a light floral character behind the more robust malt; seems an odd choice to show off a special hop. Drinks well, clean smooth and tasty. But clearly not exceptional in a town full of nice fresh hops.

22oz bottle 9/14/16 (Pear Delicatessen & Shoppe-SEA)-42į in Shaker-Pours brown with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, toffee, and chocolate. Taste of the same with a bit of Belgiany tastes. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and hits the spot since I am not a big Brown fan.

Rating #2089- 2015.09.27 #CraftTakesSeattle Day 4, Beer 191 - Bottleshare - Clear golden amber pour with a weak, white head that bubbles away to a ring. Aroma is strong with grapefruitty hops, citrusy, toasted malt. Taste is more of the same, dry bitterness and roast malts dominating the flavour, with a hint of sweetness. Finish is dry, but balanced and satisfying. Delicious.

Bronze body, decent head. Strong co-humulone catty character with some grapefruit flair--the bouquet of a heavy, humid summer night. The body is catty hops with hair on it. High octane alcohol notes punch through the palate. Enduring grapefruity and catty flavors. Intensely bitter.

Can from World Beer Market (Sake no Taniguchi), as "Emerald IPA.." Nose of piney hop, mild tropical fruit, Mosaic, quite earthy and a bit cat pissy. Light orange/ amber color. Pleasant dryish initial flavor, with crackers, citrus, small bit of stone fruit, and caramel. Medium body. Well-balanced, mild sort of IPA.

Schooner Exact Northwest Framboise
Draft at the Red Hot. Pours a hazy medium pinkish amber with minimal head or lace. Mild berry nose, mixed with peanuts (?), basement, and minerals. Lots of brett character busting through this fruit beer, which seems a bit incongruous. Creamy medium body with moderate carb. Berries, peanuts, basement, and minerals on the mid palate. Rather unfocused. Would like to see a cleaner profile and more fruit forward out front and in back.

Draft pour at Hop and Hound, listed as bourbon aged, and at 8.4%. Dark brown pour with a fading cola fizz head. Bold coffee grounds aroma. Flavor displays minimum bourbon feature for me, but itís there. Good roasted malt character. Cool finish that takes a stab at being tart. Fun unique porter. Pretty good.

Schooner Exact Hop Sails: Beer Junctionís 3rd Anniversary Double IPA
Weil after several years of holding on to this for a good reason and because the beer junction is my place of discovery of new beers and is also celebrating their 6th anniversary in a few weeks. So the beer has turned more of a barleywine now. However a good one at that. Nice hoppy accents. Deep copper with undertones of licorice and honey. Considering This is a three year old double ipa itís not bad as a barleywine.

Purs nicely golden, maybe a few notes of amber hue inside. White foam, does not really stay long. Aroma is dominated by tropical and fruity hops, sweetish honey feel to it - in the best way. Taste is feeling actually very light, body is there and maybe even multiply sweet - but hops are fresh and abundant, so they are in a great balance with the body and make this super highly drinkable. Great stuff, I do like it a lot, sort of well brewed American IPA that I really need once in a while.

Schooner Exact Orgasmic Lager
Draft at SB. Pours a brilliantly clear pale gold with a loose white head. Light toasty cracker and soft grass nose. Creamy medium body with very lively carb. Light crackers and grass on the mid palate, maybe a bit of marjoram there as well. Tried to choke down some Sam Smith with this. 20 years ago, Sam Smith was the bomb, because they could ship beer all the way over here and it would still stand out as high-bodied and quite flavorful. Now all you get is gnarly oxidation and cardboard out of them. Even at a Salute to Samuel Smith event, drinking the local stuff AND the Sam Smith stuff just leaves you frustrated for Sam Smith. This beer blows its inspiration clean out of the water, and itís the best beer SEBC has racked in a while. Worth repeats for sure.
