COAST Blackbeerd Imperial Stout
Bottle. Bottled on 12/21/10. Going vintage on this one. Pours a dark brown almost black with a mocha tan head. Some booze, dark raisin, and leather notes in the nose. Medium heavy mouthfeel. Slight dark fruit mixed with leather. Slight roast finish. Decent for being pretty old.

COAST Oktoberfest
Pint draft pour at Charleston Beer Works. Poured a clear amber color with an ever-so-slightly off-white head. Aroma was sweet malt notes. This had a decent amount of light grain, light earthy hops in there too. Flavor was crisp, with some sweetness on the finish. Pretty tasty, not cloyingly sweet like some Oktoberfest beers can come across.

COAST Old Nuptial
2015 Bottling 650 Ml bottle Dark, murky orange amber color. Off white head, that falls to a thin collar. Good lacing on the sides of the glass. Thick AVB legs. Nose is dark fruits, fig, burnt caramel, date, dark stone fruit, soft toasted oak and soft bourbon. Small hop presence in the nose. Taste is fig, brown sugar, dates, and hints of chocolate. Little barrel character but that is OK. Malt really is nice. Good body and medium chewy. Not overwhelming but easy to drink for 11%.

COAST Dead Arm Pale Ale
Lovely pale ale from COAST, almost an IPA but not quite, citric and hoppy but with a delicious grainy malt soul. Starts semisweet and juicy, bright tropical and citric hops leading into a solid malt middle, earthy and biscuity and mildly sweet, then rolling into an orange marmalade hop finish and a piney fade. Awesome beer.

COAST Goon Juice
On tap at the Pour Taproom (Greenville, SC). Pours with a clear pale golden body and a fine white head that has very good retention and leaves patterned lacing. Aroma: sweet and odd (but not in a bad way), with hints of candied fruits and vanilla. Intriguing. Flavor: much less sweet but no less fruity than the aroma suggests, and it has notable bready malts. Otherwise, largely follows the aroma. A little more bitter than sweet. Nicely complex and harmonious. Mouthfeel: light-medium body with soft, medium+ carbonation. Overall: refined and mild, this has a distinctive beer worth seeking out.

COAST Carnie Fire
appearance: beautiful clear ruby amber, with a finger of dense, creamy, light tan head and good lacing. aroma: very fresh nose, fully of piney, floral, and minty hops; hint of caramel and toffee underneath. taste: some toffee sweetness up front, then a wash of pine, resin, floral and citrus hops washes it all away. finish: fresh, clean, lasting dry bitterness; bright palate, just a hint of caramel and toast at the end. notes: Really nice amber. A tad hoppier than I like in the style, but it worked very well overall. First offering from this brewery, will try again. Draft with brunch at Edmunds Oast in Charleston, South Carolina, with Sarah.
