Custom Brewcrafters Signature Series “Cassie” Belgian-Style Black Currant Ale
January 21, 2014 - with blankboy, jercraigs & mabel - bomber. Reddish gold - bubbly and clear, smallish off-white head. Smells like a crappy pale lager with some added fruit - grainy, generic, vaguely fruity. Tastes like a berry shandy - tart, but in a bad way - ick. Light body, still, acidic, mounting unpleasantness; not horrific, but not good at all - hint of rhubarb in the aftertaste which I assume shouldn’t be there.

Well. This is here in the first day of summer. Who wouldn't love that? But wait... when were these peaches grown? And why do we get them now? No. You keep this. Thanks for the idea. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Custom Brewcrafters "Jack" Oak Aged Wee Heavy
This is in bombers now, got it at the brewery. Fairly unimpressed. Smooth, malty, somewhat tasty, not a lot going on, yes the dry oak is there. Not really worth the price.

This seemed to be getting mixed reviews I heard people around us saying it tasted like cough syrup. I liked it, nice cherry, a bit of chocolate, I did not think it was overbearing but could not drink it all night.

Custom Brewcrafters Caged Alpha Monkey
Bottle, thanks to my bud "Bags" ... Aged bronze color, virtually no head. The aroma is woodsy and earthen. It drinks with a sturdy, forest-laden bitterness. A little more body would make this a bit better. (#6277, 8/13/2016)

NEW BEER, FIRST RATE.
It seems that the years of contract brewing for three heads has finally paid off, and these guys have figured out the way to brew a decent beer for a change. Pours gold with a white head. Nice tropical hop expression in the aroma, suggesting late additions and or dry hopping with new world hops (I’m getting citra and possibly mosaic). Taste is gently bitter and semi sweet. Huge tropical flavor derived from the hops, this is genuinely expressive and impressive. Alcohol is well hidden from the slight under attenuation. Get this fresh, I’m guessing the late addition aromatic hops will fade quickly. Still, this is a very good beer. Bravo.

I found it a little bitter for how it is advertised. Still mild for a porter. Small tan head. Looks like a root beer in the glass. Nothing special and that’s to be expected for the wordiness of the description.

Custom Brewcrafters Joe Latte’ Vanilla Coffee Stout
Pours deep dark brown. Nose smells strongly of coffee and chocolate syrup. The aroma is coffee and to a lesser extent chocolate, a little bit of vanilla and a little metallic. Creamy, but not as rich as I expected. Also, not as sweet as expected. The vanilla takes its time to show up - and pleasantly so when it does.
