This rare example of Burton-style India Pale Ale, the third annual release in our His Majesty anniversary series, is a nod to the famed brewing waters of Burton-on-Trent. Originally intended to be our very first His Majesty in 2009, a short supply of English hops put the kibosh on that idea. Now we’ve dusted off the recipe... Pale English malts, East Kent Golding and Fuggle hops, and a characterful ale yeast all play a strong role in this beer but it is the mineral content of the brewing water that sets it in a category of its own.

Two beers specifically influenced this release - one an old favourite from Burton-upon-Trent itself and the other from that lesser-known brewing centre of Auckland, New Zealand (this latter IPA we were never fortunate enough to try... but who said we need to try something to be influenced by it?). As usual the beer is lovingly brewed, conditioned to optimum ripeness, and hand-bottled by our friends at Invercargill Brewery. Enjoy in moderation with good friends, good food and good music.
