For the Heralded Nocturnes project, we took a traditional grain recipe for a Märzen style beer and spun our own non-conforming traditional twists. We couldn’t let this project proceed without a Belgo twist and when we were offered a load of freshly harvested high-altitude hops from the K..A.G. Ranch in Divide, CO and new Cabernet Savignon barrels, we saw an opportunity to fill out our Heralded Nocturnes trifecta. Dried cherries, oak, fresh-cut grass and hop spiciness dominate the aroma. A gentle hop bitterness gives way to a green hopness that hints of that Scotch grassiness, earthy spiciness, full malt roundness and crisp, finish.
