High Water Aphotic Imperial Porter High Water Brewing Lodi, California
Beer style: Porter - Imperial Ref: ratebeer.com Jun2024
Common descriptors are Aphotic [ā-fō’-tic] Greek: without light.
Formally defined as the depths in water
beyond which less than one percent of sunlight penetrates. Aphotic is a beer with a very dark side. Just one sip and you will understand the true depths of its darkness as the deep, luxurious layers of malt rich-ness tantalize and tease your taste buds.
Brewmaster’s Notes: Aphotic Imperial Porter - Vintage 2013 To be Released: November 18, 2013 Bottles 22oz Draft 5.16 gal Keg Based on the popularity of our barrel aged version we have decided to release the Aphotic as a year round beer. We have forgone the barrel aging and developed a slightly different recipe focused on the use of Molasses, Muscovado Sugar and Star Anise. Copious amounts of Carafa 1,2 and 3 as well as chocolate malts and Midnight Wheat malts were used. Deep, dark and delicious!!!! Enjoy....Steve |
