Common descriptors are IPA wasn’t a very popular beer style when we first brewed Centennial IPA to commemorate our 100th batch of beer in 1994. Back then we brewed it to coincide with the availability of freshly harvested hops, but as the appeal of IPAs grew, we started brewing IPAs year round. These days, we have to purchase hops years in advance in order to acquire the varieties we have grown to love. FHA IPA harkens back to the days when some varieties ran out shortly after harvest, thereby limiting production. We strive to brew this beer with only the freshest hops we can find, resulting in slight variations in flavor and aroma. Our alpha batch has strong citrus, pine, and tropical fruit aromas, with just enough British malt backbone to support this hop heavy beer. |
