First brewed over 200 years ago by Courage in the Anchor Brewhouse near Tower Bridge. Brewing transferred to Reading in 1981. Scottish & Newcastle acquired the brand in 1995, selling it to Wells & Young's in 2007, when production moved to the Eagle Brewery in Bedford. Marston's took over the Eagle Brewery and Courage Best in 2017, and reduced the abv from 3.8% to 3.6%.
Pale brown in appearance with a bitter after taste, Courage Best Bitter consumers enjoy its lower ABV that allows them the opportunity to enjoy their favourite ale for longer. Pale in colour, fully balanced with a malty flavour and distinctive hop character, makes for an easy drinking session beer.
