Mammoth Owen's Valley Wet Harvest Lager (2011)

Mammoth Brewing Company
Mammoth Lakes, California
Beer style: Pilsener - Imperial
Ref: ratebeer.com May2024

Common descriptors are
Mammoth Brewing company is proud to our second annual Wet Harvest beer. This year, we chose to brew an imperial pale lager. Using pristine alpine water from the headwaters of the Owens Valley and cascade hops from Banner Springs Ranch in the Glass Mountains. The hops were harvested and bought to our brewery - still warm and moist from the field for every step of the brewing process. From mash-in though filtration. Using few speciality malts and a unique lager yeast the beer has all the hop character and bitterness of any IPA but was fermented cold at 50 degree F so at to further highlight the aromatic qualities of these high altitude wet hops.
