It’s a well known fact that brewers of wood-aged sour beer takes risks and practice patience. Traditional sour beers are very popular in Belgium and have recently been brewed in USA. Redoak brewers are always looking for a new challenge and have brewed this sour beer to showcase yet another unique and unusual beer style. It is based upon an oud red ale (old red) beer typically brewed in Belgian and is often described as the most wine-like of the beers. Tasting notes: Redoak’s wood-aged sour beer is medium bodied, reddish colour from the special red malt used, a gentle malty flavour with no hop bitterness and distinctive sourness. The flavour and aroma are a strong mix and smell of fruits such as plum, cherry and raisins. You may not like the idea that you are drinking sour beer, but your mouth will love it! Drop by for a glass or two of our newest beer.
