The story: “Don’t play what I play, play what I’m not playing.” That’s the vibe. We aren’t German brewmasters, we don’t know the deep secrets of the style, we don’t want to use the classic German hops and we don’t have a tank free for three months. But we do know what we want from a Doppelbock, so we took the idea apart and put it back together. German style, American accent, London execution. A beer with our rules, because we can, because no one else does. It’s Doppelbock done our way. And done to celebrate 2012. Raise your glass to that. The taste: A dark ruby colour, it’s got a full malt body with toffee, baked bread and dark bitter chocolate, then the American hops give pine, spice and strawberries sweets, all delicate and intriguing before hop and malt bitterness chime with spirit warmth at the end. It’s clean and smooth, warming yet light, complex. It’s our end of your treat. Malt: Pilsner, Munich, Aromatic, Chocolate, Cara Dark, Roast Barley Hops: Galena, Cluster, Simcoe
