Common descriptors are Cask; Status uncertain.
Originally brewed to celebrate the 1951 Festival of Britain – Festive is now back revived from the ashes. This is a traditional English Premium Bitter. Kings Festive at 4.7% ABV, is a full bodied real ale with distinct vinous fruit flavours, reminiscent of plump raisins and dried currants. The initial hops is subtle with notes of spice and leafy bitterness. There is a full malt palate. A deep red copper colour with a fine creamy head and a delicious rich smooth mouthfeel giving great lacing on the glass. A complex caramel finish with a dry-lingering mild-tempered bitterness gives a well rounded balanced beer.
[Note: No ratings yet but added to avoid confusion with the spiced version that was available at 2012 Pigs Ear festival. Please do not delete. chriso] |
