This Sole Composition release represents the first barleywine made at Upright. Brewed in a deeply malty English style with ashburne mild, golden promise, two medium caramel malts and a touch of roasted wheat for added color, the full bodied beer is balanced by a generous hand of several hops including three experimental varieties. After a healthy fermentation with a classic British yeast, the beer was split into four different local whiskey casks where they mature for nearly four months, picking up tones of milk chocolate, oak and char, spirit, and even deeper caramel.
