2nd anniversaries come around pretty quickly in the fast paced rock n roll world of craft brewing, and ours couldn’t have come sooner. 2013 sees our 2nd birthday and the release of our second barleywine in our own idiom with a heavily peated SuperBeast. Brewed with a grist comprising of over 90% Scottish peated distillers malt and a touch of British roasted barley, this monster of the moors is a stinky, peaty, nasty creature that you’re either going to love in an unnatural way, or absolutely abhor with a disgust that is normally levelled at mimes and street performers. Aromas of smoky peat malt, burnt tyres, bandaids, seaweed and peppery oakiness are not normally regarded as a good thing in a beer, but this is what you’ll get - like a fine Islay whisky – with just enough hop character to balance it out. Perfect to enjoy now, great to cellar.
