Red Duck Canard de Garde is a strong ale that was brewed in late autumn, stored over winter, and ready for the thirsty farm workers to devour during the busy summer season. Originally, Biere de Gardes were from the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region, and varied greatly depending on the farmhouse where they were brewed and each year’s crops. Some were funky, some were not, some pale and some amber. We are pretty sure this one will be a simple Biere de Garde, but who knows, as the abels were printed before the Biere was finished.
