Belgian monks have a long standing history of brewing beer in the abbeys where they live, study and worship. The beer they brew is to serve the community by preserving the year’s grain harvest. The Abbey Dubbel is a classic Belgian monastic style developed by Trappist monks such as those at Westmalle and Chimay. Our brewers decided to pay homage to the Trappist monks by offering their own version of the style, with all the reverence and patience monastic brewers exhibit, we present Clustered Spires Abbey Dubbel. This ale is a deep amber color with a rocky white head. It has a soft and clean malt character with subtle spiciness, with hints of cocoa and dried fruit like raisins and plums. It’s a malty beer but yet very dry and light on the palate. We hope you enjoy this one as much as we enjoyed brewing it.
