A stout brewed with English yeast, German malts and Swiss hops. Blackbier was awarded the silver medal at the European Beer Star awards 2007 & gold in 2009 for the Dry Stout category. It is heavier and sweeter than most dry stouts. Typically, roast and chocolate malt aromas dominate…maybe a hint of coffee? With a full and smooth mouth feel, the strong hop and roast malt bitterness is balanced by rich malt sweetness. Three different roast malts combined with a pilsner malt base result in a complex, black beer. The finish is long and roasty but not harsh.
