Van Den Bossche Buffalo 1907 Van Den Bossche St-Lievens-Esse, Herzele, East Flanders
Beer style: Belgian Ale - Dark / Amber Ref: ratebeer.com Apr2024
Common descriptors are Brewed since the beginning of last century, when the near-complete staff of the brewery went to see the circus of Buffalo Bill, leaving the boiling brewing kettle to the care of the youngest employee. This boy let the beer roast and caramelise on the bottom of the kettle, but after trying, everybody actually liked the "spoiled" beer, which became the brewery’s staple diet. This Belgian version is a lot weaker than the stout exported to the USA. |
