Our Winter Wobbler is a very special offering that is released each year around mid-December. Although the Winter Wobbler name stays the same, the style of beer changes every year. 2003s offering was a Dunkleweizen. 2004s version was something a little different, in the realm of Herb and Spice beers, heather and sage to be exact. 2005s version is a traditional German Bock recipe. A Bock bier is a dark German lager, usually higher in alcohol and described as malty and syrupy. Ours was fermented with top fermenting lager yeast which makes it a "Top Bock". A rich orangey fragrance and spice comes from the rye malt, allspice, orange peel, and coriander added to this bold winter ale. Two weeks of aging on raw cedar wood has enriched this already complex ale with even more holiday spice and aroma. It will weigh in at a whopping 8.2% alcohol by volume, but remains very smooth and drinkable. Cheers...
