STYLE. "Fortified cider" is a cider to which can be added aromatic substances, sugar or apple juice, which, by fermentation or addition of neutral alcohol or cider juice, contains at least 15% and not more than 20% alcohol per volume and which must have the characteristics normally attributed to fortified wine with the organoleptic characteristics of apple or cider.
