I’m a 40 year old interactive media professional turned craft beer brewer, writer and consultant who resides in southern Illinois. I currently work as a brewer and consultant at Big Muddy Brewing in Murphysboro, Illinois - a 15 barrel production brewery with distribution throughout the state of Illinois. I also work as a coulumnist at Beer Connoisseur magazine where I write "Style Studies" - a column dedicated to the exploration of world beer styles. I document my various and sundry interests on beerphilosopher.com, a blog I began back in 2006. In 2008, I founded the Aleuminati - a comprehensive social network of over 5,000 members dedicated to the terrific culture of better beer worldwide. I am a member of the Brewers Association, American Homebrewers Association, a Certified Beer Server through the Cicerone Certification Program and a Beer Judge Certification Program beer judge.
