Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 19/05/24. Hazed orange with a white cap that thins to the edge. Nose is orange zest, grass, stoned fruits, pine resin, dank chimes, weed, Nelson pissoi. Taste comprises bitter tropical fruits, pine resin, dank spike, stoned fruits, ripe melon, guava. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with grassy come resinous Nelson loaded hop bitterness. Solid IPA.

473ml can. Murky golden, white head. Aroma of mango, grapefruit, candied citrus. Taste is the same, mango and grapefruit, mandarin, sweetness in the form of candied citrus, though it's not cloying and there's enough hop bite to counter it. Medium bodied, creamy, smooth, soft. Top tier Citra usage.

Van fles bij NHBF ‘24. Zwarte kleur, beige-bruine kraag. Bitter, gebrand, vanille, hout, port, alcohol, iets meer in balans dan de standaard Hafgufa maar nog altijd weinig subtiel. Medium tot volle body.

Westside Ale Works South Melbourne, Victoria

(Can) Pours clear golden with big white head. Belgian yeast aroma with nice peppery notes. Full bodied with mouth filling soft carbonation. Good taste with an interesting combination of styles. Predominantly Belgian especially at the start with some hoppy bitter growing through the palate. The somewhat aggressive peppery and bitter notes rather dominate. There are some biscuity malt and banana notes in the background. Enjoyable, unusual but maybe a bit unbalanced.

Flaska. Trodde att det här skulle smaka exakt som Tipopils men den har en lite mjölkig, grynig karaktär och är inte lika clean som originalet... sen om det har med de tillförda ingredienserna att göra eller om det placebo... ändå friskt! Lätt och med mycket hö.

Beer52 Edinburgh, Lothian

May 2024. Small can, filtered, from Beer52. Well here's a rarity - a Beer52 beer, whipped up at low cost in an industrial brewery in Europe, that is palatable. Put loads of dark malts in the pot - enough for a 6% beer - and you're likely to end up with a tasty beer. The body is a bit thin for a 6% beer, but I doubt if this has been warm fermented, so this is essentially a Baltic porter or a strong dark lager. Thankfully the hops have been kept to a minimum so there's not a clash with the malts. The result is an easy drinking and commercial strong dark beer that slips down smooth with a little tobacco rub of roasty malts at the end. Yes it lacks character, but it is tasty and drinkable. Yeah, nice one. [3.0]

Bottle. Color: Reddish brown, thin beige head. Aroma: Barley malt, raisins, some caramel. Taste: Barley malt, bit boozy, sweetish and a little sugary but not too sweet. Hints of nuts. Over moderate sweet. Notes of raisins, some caramel. Light hopbitterness in thwbackground. Over medium body, just below average carbonation. Nice Barleywine.
