Buffalo Bayou 1912

Brewer: Buffalo Bayou Brewing
Style: Red Ale - Irish
Alcohol Content: 7%
Seasonal: Special

Description:
Hoppy Red Ale aged on Live Oak. Rice University is turning 100 years old this year, and we brewed this batch of Secessionist in honor of their Centennial Celebration. Every ingredient was carefully selected to honor Rice in some way. We put rice hulls in the mash and Centennial Hops in the boil, layered on top of a Red Ale (in honor of Rassul’s dorm. Baker College). Also, the Arborist & Groundskeepers at Rice hand selected logs from Live Oaks on campus and we aged this ale on discs from those Oaks. Look for a big citrus & floral nose followed by a malty mouthfeel that begins sweet and finishes dry. The vanilla tannins from the Live Oaks come through on the finish.
