Ales have been brewed in Germany for 3000 years and Alt is the ale that has long defined Dusseldorf. AltBier means "old beer" and describes an ale fermented cold with an ale yeast, then aged near the freezing point. This Alt is brownish-amber in color, medium bodies with a firm malt character and backed with high hop bitterness. AltBier measures in at: OG = 12.7 degrees plato, TG = 3.1 degrees plato, IBU are around 55. Fermentation temperature = 55 degrees using Pacman Yeast.
