Fantasy Hockey Pool - Gauging interest

I’m considering organizing a fantasy pool. I’m wondering if there would be interest in a Ratebeer Canadian Hockey Pool. I know there is an American one, but int’l shipping and/or picking up several boxes if you win make it a tough sell.

My initial thoughts would be everyone is in for a 12 or 6 bottle shipper of beer to be send out in May when the season ends. Depending on the number of teams, we could do prizes for 1st, 2nd 3rd.

If interested, let me know your preferences. H2H? Points Based? Roto (roto kind of sucks for hockey). We would have to do a live draft, my preference for hockey has been Yahoo, but open to suggestions.

I tried to start one in Canada up last year. No luck, not even one response. So I joined up in the USA one using a USA address.

If you manage to get some interest I would prob willing to join up with this one as well.

Thanks for the reply! Maybe fantasy pools and beer don’t mix? I’m going to expand outside ratebeer and see if there are some people on the other forums who might be interested.

Actually Steve, it probably extends back a few years to when we did have a fantasy hockey group started in this forum. The winner never received their spoils because certain other members never honoured the conditions. I think that is why there was silence last year, and again this year.

Well you should be safely eliminated from your football pools by the team the NHL season starts, so maybe you’ll have a change of heart!

Sadly, no. It’s too bad, I’d rather play for boxes of beer than money!

Rather be out playing than DnDing it!
If I paid a bit more attention to pro hockey then I’d be in, but I really don’t know the current players, teams, etc well enough to bet on it.
