Shropshire Gene Takeover.

Today Monday 5th October 2015 is the day Gene arrives in the Shire. Mat and I have arranged a fun packed beery day and evening.



Bridgnorth, Ironbridge, Wellington and Shrewsbury will all be visited with more than a dozen Place Rates for him, plus a tasting with some like minded people. History, the countryside and beer, what more could anyone want? Of the top ten highest rated places in Shropshire Gene will be taken to nine of them (Ludlow is just a bit too far away).



I will update our day once Tuesday has arrived and I have awoken.

Surely a trip to the Raven in Wellington would be a proper treat.....

I think we did OK. Three place ratings in Bridgnorth, five in Telford and four in Shrewsbury. Weather was good, beer was good, company was good, pubs were good.

Beers were shared, beers were traded, beers were given, beers were drank.

A very pleasant day and evening spent with a very pleasant chap.

Somehow missed the Raven in Wellington, can not think why I did not take Gene there.

Make that five bars in Shrewsbury, I left early: Mat and mates took him to another place once I caught my train home.

Twas indeed a splendid evening, despite the minor hiccup getting into Gene’s hotel at the end of the night!
