Stopped by here for brunch the first day in to town. The place is a nice size with a dining area and a large bar area. Sevice was great. Selection was mostly imports and like 15 local taps. All available in a sample size. I did not get back to taste the beers but looks like a pretty nice place to hang out.

This is a must stop for any beer geek. Sure you wonder what are they talking about. Well this little breakfast place has a serious Belgian and Craft beer issue. Like 22 of some of the best beers you ever see. Bottle list that will rival any down in the lower 48. A must stop and have some food and great service. Beers are to die for.

This place is great. They have an extensive selection of drinks, not just beer. I really enjoyed the Celestial Mead Pollonator I I had. My God; a mead aged in port casks, and an awesome mead, to boot. The food was pretty good, and the service was fairly good, but not as prompt as you may "expect". I thought the service was fine, but what I’m saying is, is that if you’re expecting to be in and out in under 30 minutes, don’t bother. I thought the beer section was fairly decent, but I wasn’t blown away, but seeing this as a package deal, made it all better. Definitely worth a stop, and your time.

Very good place, and is off the beaten path being away from most of the ’bar area’s’ in town. We arrived to check it out on a 1 and done type deal. I had 3 samples in tiny little 1oz (I think) tulip glasses. I would have ordered a beer but the bartender/owner kept chatting us up and never asked if I wanted a full pint! They’re very in touch with the beer scene and told us Tap Root had moved, which wasn’t on the BA/RB website. They do serve in proper glassware and do have a wide variety of belgian ales. I was sticking to most locals as I can get the belgians cheaper in San Diego. A must stop if you’re doing the beer scene in A-town.

Located on the end of a U shape strip mall and easy to find as they have a sign on the outside wall facing you as you travel on the one way Benson street...turn in just after seeing the sign. Upon walking in you are located in a smaller bar area that has about a 10 seat bar top and a couple of round tables in the corner surrounded by windows. On the opposite side is an hostess stand right next to an opening on the wall that leads you into a dinning area that is a little more than 2x the size of the bar area. Really an interesting layout and decor. Breakfast was good, good enough to hit 2 mornings, but the real draw was for the beer. The first trip was on a Friday morning and there was about 14 beers on tap...with about 80-85% being local offerings. Extensive bottle list for anything else I saw in AK, but I wasn’t here to drink imported bottles. Second trip was on a Sunday afternoon and many of the taps had rotated, and found some other interesting offerings. Service was great and the owners were there both days. Chatted Ken a bit on Sunday and learned a little history of the location and the establishment. Great beer selection, proper glassware and a must stop in Anchorage.

Nice small, local place. The employees are well educated in beer and will serve your drink in the right glass and at close to the right temp. Huge selection of brews (Import, Domestic, and Local). A great selection of beers and meads on tap as well. There is more brews on the menu than food. The food is good but overpriced. A great place for good beer and conversations.

Good place for beer. Good mix of local, domestic, and imported beer. They serve each unique beer in the right glass, at the right temperature, and with the proper head. The bar area can get crowded. Both the food and beer are good but overpriced in my opinion.

My favorite place in town to get a drink and hang out. Its not very tourist and its off the beaten path. This is the place for beer lovers who want to drink a beer surrounded by other people who love craft brewing. They always have the seasonals before anyone else and they serve in the proper glassware.

When I lived in Anchorage I was a regular here. For the beer lover there’s really no better place in town. Ken (the owner) was the master brewer at the first microbrewery in Alaska, and is extremely knowledgeable. Will was voted best bartender in the Pacific Northwest. The rest of the staff is also extremely knowledgeable. Taps rotate, but there is typically something for whatever you might crave, locals and Belgians alike. Bottle selection is extensive. The bar area is quite pleasant, and the clientèle typically quite friendly. For me, this is the beer bar against which others are judged. All around it’s a good place to be, and I wish I were there now.
