Sigtuna Brygghus

Had a great tasting and brewery tour with a number of colleagues on a weekday evening (250 SEK pp (£20)). Not the most central location but public transport is available. The evening included some brewery history, a few bottled brews compared along with one of the IPAs fresh from the tank. Then a tour of the facilities. Finally a number of additional brews...

A good place to go for good value lunches, especially if you’re in the area. A number of Sigtuna beers are on offer, mostly in bottled form, but occasionally on tap too.

Not the best location but this is actually a quite nice brewery pub. The first Friday every month they have a pub night where you can try new and old brews and talk to the brewers. One of the fastest growing micro breweries in Sweden.

The location way out of the city, close to the airport of Arlanda is not a very nice one. It’s like an industrial area with some car dealers and other shops. OK, let it be that the next door neighbor is the Lamborghini dealer but I’d prefer something cosier actually. The inside resembles the generic lunch restaurant on your block, with the difference that you have a window in to a part of the brewery. The food they served had fancy names but was quite bland to be honest. They offer all their own brews from tap, bottle or both in some cases. I tried everything they had on offer and found nothing that really stands out. The most interesting though was their version of the old Viking brew "Mjöd", based purely on honey. It resembled more a sparkling wine - almost champagneish in character - than a beer. I didn’t say it was good, but interesting.... Foodwise the menu had all the right words to make me drool, but in reality the food came out OK at best to be honest. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable.
