Panthoney (1), , Australia does not count - explanation | | May 23, 2012 Phenomenal beer selection - the best I’ve seen in terms of a wide range of top end craft beers. The barman was kind enough to give me a tour of his cellar which was really impressive. The prices are fine for Norway.
Tip: don’t try to engage the barman in ’beer nerd’ talk when the bar is busy on a Friday night. He seems to warm more to jovial conversation rather than answering questions that should be directed at the brewers.
| | aleph (22), , | | April 5, 2012 Impressive 44 taps, a whole line of Nøgne ø and Mikkeller, decent bottles. Really liked that the ambiance is left to the customers to create (i.e. no music), as you can have a decent conversation without feeling exposed. Can’t hold the ridiculous prices against the place since it’s Norway. Definitely the best beer spot I’ve been to in the country, so when in Bergen... | Nyre (3), , does not count - explanation | | March 30, 2012 Best beer pub in Norway that I have been to. Knowledgeable and serviceable staff. Not very pricey for a Norwegian pub. Relaxed ambiance with no music (at all, ever). The pub itself is not too big, still roomy enough. Also, it has a small outdoor patio with a few tables for smokers where you can bring your drink. They do some import on their own, giving them a selection of beers hard or impossible to find elsewhere in Norway. Recently the first pub in Bergen to have its own exclusive beer, the Henrik Imperial Amber (brewed by Lervig) - let’s hope there will be more. | | ILikeOl (70), , Norway | | March 15, 2012 By far the best selection of draught beers in Norway, 44 taps installed. At my visit , 4 were empty, around 5 were crap beer and the remainding were the real stuff.
The majority were norwegian and danish micros. I did not see a bottle meny, but were told they had between 150 and 170 different types. Judging from the ones displayed, it looked quite nice. The price level of the taps were decent by norwegian standards, did not see any bottle prices. Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to spend much time, so future visit(s) are required. Then hopefully more bergens drinkers have discovered that this great bar offers better beer than Guinness and Frydenlund... | Foffern (9), Bergen, Norway does not count - explanation | | March 4, 2012 A small and intimate pub with an amazing selection on both tap and bottles. Recently extended their tap range to about 30-40, all from well-known classic beers to more rare tap ales. The same with the bottles where they might have very limited productions. It’s a small pub so it could get pretty crowded late in the weekends. | Gulbrandsen (5), Bergen, Norway does not count - explanation | | January 22, 2012 No music, which is so fantastic that i have no words to describe it. It leaves it up to the clientelle to set the ambience, not some random band, which is one of the biggest strengths of this pub (other than their great selection of beer that is). The pub itself could do with a slightly warmer wall-colour, but thats just me beeing a dick.
The service is impeccable. What people say about the bartenders trying to have you drink what they want is from my experience related to the selection of beers they have available. This is the first wide-selection pub ive been to so i guess there are pubs with even bigger selections. Anyhow, my impression of their selection is that it is well thought through. No random fillers to be found.
It is a bit pricey, but i expect that is what you have to pay to get those beers on tap. It all goes down to distributor-politics i guess.
Overall it is by far my favourite pub for drinking high end beer in Bergen. No one can match their selection and knowledge. As far as i know. | comichael (2), , Norway does not count - explanation | | December 4, 2011 Great selection. Nøgne Ø on tap is rare. Had some unfortuane experience with the staff pushing beers I did not ask for, and "forgetting" my cash withdrawal. Asides from that, one of the best beer pubs in town,. | | Cunningham (118), Halden, Norway | | October 24, 2011 For ett utvalg i øl! koselig og intimt sted | | RuneStumo (47), FØRRESFJORDEN, Norway | | July 1, 2011 29.06.2011. Henrik øl og vin is a very nice place to go to! They have a very good selection of both Norwegian and international beers. Helpful staff. I visited this place together with ClubGonzo, Palme and InBreakand we had a very good time. | | kermis (52), The Hague, Netherlands | | May 30, 2011 Great bar with a good selection and friendly people. We were taken to the cellar and offered some good recommendations when we said we were interested in Norwegian micros. A great place to come for a few beers if you’re in Bergen. Value left blank as Norway prices are always high. |
