70 Visited finally for the first time with Travlr. Small place, not sure if you could fit more than 5 people comfortably in there. Patio on the side. Decent selection of taps, nothing too exciting though. Some bottles I haven't seen around, but not a huge selection. Service could be more friendly. Anyway worth checking out if you're nearby, but not a destination bar even for London. |
68 Solid bar just around the corner from Borough Market, affiliated with the Utobeer bottle shop in the market. They advertise no crap on tap, and indeed, it is all craft, but not all good craft. 18 taps, with 1/3 pints of all beers available, plus staff will do tastes. I wasn't too excited by anything on tap, but that could be reflective of the London beer scene more than the bar. Interior is very small, but there's also a nice patio. Not worth going out of your way for, but if you're in the area, it's definitely worth a look. |
78 Little has change since I first came here in September 2006, not long after they had opened he place. Their beer menu has grown, now with four cask ales in the front, and 14 taps on the wall behind the bar. Small pub room joined by an outdoor seating area close by with access to the Borough Market including the Utobeer stand. They offer thirds with four ales in each sample trays. Friendly and informative service. Obvious the best beer bar in this part of London. I have always felt comfortable at The Rake. (Visited with Magne 07.11.2022). |
80 Small pub on the edge of Borough Market with a changing range of beer |
