A groovy little spot in down town Brisbane. Very European feel and great for people watching. Good selection of Belgian beers with proper glassware. Hell, they even served my Rochefort 10 with the Rochefort chocolates. Well done. If your in Brisbane I can’t see it getting much better….

This place is certainly expensive, for both beer and food, however it has beers that are quite hard to get in bars in the rest of Brisbane. Some certainly aren’t worth their price tag, like Jupiler, which is pretty much XXXX for Belgians, however the tap selection featuring Leffe, Hoegaarden and Stella is definitely unseen elsewhere and warrants the prices for many city frequenteurs. The food I have had and it is quite good. Frites are great, athough not at all like the ones you get anywhere in Belgium, however the mussels certainly are as good as the true Belgian mussels, despite not being from the North Sea, fresh Australian seafood more than makes up or it. A good visite if you like good food and Belgian beer, and you’re willing to pay for both.

Well for me a bit dear the prices even though the selection is very good service is not bad after all most Belgian ales should be drank slowly as to save your legs from becoming a little on the wobbly side so what if the service is a little side but the prices stop me from going back

I didn’t try the food as the meal descriptions didn’t seem to justify the prices at all. Nice building and nice fit-out. Selection was alright but strangely the "beer menu" only listed about half of what was on the shelves and in the fridges - with frosted glass doors so you couldn’t see what was in them while closed. And who knew that Chimay was supposed to be shaken before serving?

Well same as it is worldwide. Marked up belgians, served in their poper glasses, in a slightly yuppified atmosphere. Decent for what it is.

Well I had to update this entry as over the last year this place has really been a let down. Service in consistently really poor and disinterested, and the beers are expensive. The food is below par the last few times I’ve visited which is disappointing as this was once a decent place to eat and enjoy a brew.

Great place to drink the day away. Both food and beers are well presented and there is not one poker machine in the whole place!

Great food, great beer and great staff. Best beer cafe in Queensland.
