| JGMoney (10), | | January 3, 2012 A nice selection of rotating drafts. Great beer events, and food that goes well with the beer. | | Leafs93 (74), Conshohocken, Pennsylvania | | November 22, 2010 Solid food, solid beer list that seems to be improving everytime I visit. I have been 4-5 times with Chalsk. I like the fact that they rotate stock frequently. Sometimes the waitstaff can be a little slow getting the drinks. | | donttreadonme (23), Chicago, Illinois | | July 11, 2010 Really enjoyed this place - super crowded bar area, but a fun atmosphere, great beer selection, and the french onion soup was top notch. Had a really nice outside area, would surely head back there. | | vtafro (24), Wayne, New Jersey | | April 10, 2010 A number of drafts, rotating with the majority of them craft or almost international. Bottle selection is better than average. Atmosphere is nice, if the crowd isn’t beer geeks they at least enjoy good beer. Food is good. Service is real good, bartenders know the beer that they have available and about them. | | Chalsk (39), North Caldwell, New Jersey | | December 22, 2009 [ Updated November 7, 2011 ] This is one of the best, if not the best beer bar in New Jersey. They have a great selection of beers, offering flights, and a great selection of Belgiums. I love the place. Bourbon Burger and the crab dip are great compliments to the various beers. But food is not all world. You go here for the beer selection and some solid junk food. Over the past year or so they have killed off some of the BMC garbage and circulated some solid brews. They have had sixtels of KBS and CBS. Name another spot in Jersey with that kind of pull. UPDATED: 11/7/11. The Leaf has managed to beef up their craft brews on tap. Last month they had KBS on tap and today they had CBS on tap. They have also had 120 and some other rarities on tap. Being that only one sixtel of CBS showed up in NJ and it showed up at the Leaf, I would say the Leaf is thee beer bar of NJ. And it is in my backyard. | | lowgun1212 (13), Carlstadt, New Jersey | | June 29, 2009 Relatively good compared towhats available in the area. Some nice beers (though the real nice ones run out fast). The beer club is kinda entry-level. Way better than an average bar but wont shake a stick at most nyc beer bars. Food is not bad. Prices are much better than nyc however. The scene is a tad jockish. | | kevin62 (10), New Jersey | | January 11, 2009 Went for lunch on a Saturday-the place was a bit quiet.I am sure it gets busier later.Real nice casual atmosphere,I sat at the bar, right in front of the taps. The lady bartender was nice and friendly,I ended up ordering a burger and a Delerium Tremens-both were real nice.I have to give the place a lot of credit-they have about 20 something beers on draft-mostly very good craft beers. Most definetly worth a stop if you are in the area! |
