Nice location in uptown Charlotte. Pretty typical Rock Bottom for the most part. They had 5 standard Rock Bottom beers on tap in addition to around 4 local Rock Bottom recipe beers. The beers seemed pretty poor compared to beers Iíve had at other Rock Bottom locations in the past. There are plenty of other, much better, and more local breweries in Charlotte, that make this one not worth the visit for an out-of-towner. But a decent place to get dinner and watch sports if youíre a local - but that is usually the case with all Rock Bottoms
Atmosphere was nice - family style. Beer was very good (Hop Nugget IPA) and well priced at $3/pint. The food (bacon, chicken mac & cheese) was outstanding. The beer selection was a bit limited. The service started out exceptional, but ended up taking 20 minutes to pay the bill due to a "computer reboot."
Lots of seating and the staff was friendly. Had the burger and fries and it was pretty tasty. Jalepeno cheese pretzels werenít bad either. Beer was average, but they had a nice mix of styles. Plenty of TVs to watch the games. Worth a stop if you are in the area.
This is your typical Rock Bottom, with the addition of a stone pizza oven, which is a nice touch. Large dining room, lots of families eating dinner. Long bar with the usual suspects. Didnít see any brewing equipment, so Iím not sure if any of the seasonals are brewed here. Pleasant enough, and centrally located.
Originally reviewed: 9/24/10. Stopped by here each day I was in town for business. Perfect place for my afternoon beer. Didnít eat anything this time I was in town, but have eaten here before. Good food if I remember correctly. Sat at the bar each time. Good bartenders. Friendly and helpful. I had a couple questions about their beers which he answered, or went and found out the answer. Had a couple of their beers. Very good beer. Their brewer must have changed things up as these were quality brews. The place is pretty open. Some tvs there for sports, some pool tables available as well. Just off of Tryon Street, so you are close to everything. Not a bad place to stop for a bite to eat and some good beer.
Great location in Uptown Charlotte. I was here with a large group, so didnít focus too much on the beers, although the one I got was quite tasty (Winterís Nip, their seasonal - they also have 5 regulars). The food menu is superb. They had holiday specials when I was there and I got the chicken and chorizo mac and cheese, which was super tasty (and heaping!). The pumpkin cheesecake was tasty as well. Definitely a chill place, I can see myself coming back when in the area.
Got here on a fairly quiet Thursday afternoon before the Meineke Bowl pep rally. Nice location right in Uptown; easy, cheap parking at a nearby garage. Had a couple of respectable beers and a tasty, messy plate of nachos. Service was good and $2.50 for drafts of good beer is tough to beat.
