82 Visited on 1st November. Out on the 77 bus route sits this large corner venue. Single room with heated patio out back. Decor reflects the death metal music playing. Solid tap list with 18 beers and 75ish bottles. Samples offered but half or pints the standard measures. Service friendly. Prices good. Food on offer but didn't try it. |
82 Visited later in the evening. Pretty dark place with metal music playing on the speakers. Nice tap list with various styles and stuff I haven't seen at other places. Burger was fantastic - one of the best I've had ever. Friendly service. |
80 Went to the West Loop location (which I don't see on here but which I understand is very similar to the OG place). It's Kuma's, what can you say? Great taplist, nothing super whale-ish but tons of stuff you probably won't see outside Chicago and every now and then they'll get some stuff that will really sing to you. Did not have the burgers but they are very famously great.
Punk aesthetic. It's Chi-town, what're you gonna do? |
84 My last visit in Chicago, Wednesday night, June 2018. Visited after a long day doing sightseeing - museums, etc. Not busy when I visited it. Very nice ambiance, dark, nice rock music. I went there for the burgers. The one I selected was excellent. I also found a very good beer to drink from the small tap list. Very good service. I would go again. |
74 Metal style place which can get a bit overbearing but music was not too loud, so acceptable. Staff was friendly so that helped a lot. Selection is ok, not great. Handmade crisps were good. |
52 Goofy "metal" tinged spot though all i ever hear is stoner/sludge crap which is utter boring. The burgers are gordon foodservice type just with a bunch of crap thrown on, way tooo big to eat in a sitting, the beer list is usually nothing to write home about, service is hit or miss. |
72 Heather and I hit this local burger legend while she was in town to see me Memorial Day weekend. It was muggy and 87° so the patio was full, but it was early enough on a Thursday that there was plenty of seating available in the dining room. She had a Zombie Dust, I had the Apex Predator. Heard at least three Misfits songs, Black Flag, and plenty of Slayer.... which influenced my final decision to get the Slayer Burger -- I mean how do you not go for a four-alarm garbage burger covered with chili, andouile, pepper jack, and two kinds of hot peppers... served bun-less on a bed of fries! Awesomeness. Solid beer list even if what they offer is a bit pricey. Heather had the Lair of the Minotaur to go with the Zombie Dust -- 3F’s would’ve been proud. Best background music to eat large chunks of ground beef to in the Meat Capital of the Midwest. |
80 Dingy, crowded and noisy but in a good way. Loud metal music playing all the time, generally a long wait for a table. Burgers are some of my favorite in the world. Beer selection is solid. One of my favorites. |
80 Small burger joint with amazing food best burger in the city. Was very busy but had a solid tap selection |
76 MMM burgers. Great food, Good brews on tap and bottles at decent prices. Good chi stop. |
