Parking right in front of the place which may be a somewhat of a challenge to find since it is off the main road a bit. Good size u-shaped bar. My bartender asked right away what I wanted. Pricing was on the higher end. Selection was quite good and they updated their beer menu recently online. I would come back.

Located in a shopping center off Bethel Rd. Decent selection of beers. Was happy to see Dragons Milk! One of my favorites!

Easy to find location in shopping area at the corner of Bethel and Olentangy. Parking lot in front with small patio in the front with side main entrance. Clean sports bar format with bar in the middle and booths and tables all around. Good tap selection and I had a Two Hearted. Freindly staff. Kitchen in the back left but did not get to eat. Nice locals place to go.

This is a small place in a strip mall next to a K-mart. The bar is on the cramped side, and the bottle and food selections are limited. Still, this place has its appeal. The tap-list wasn’t huge, but it had a nice diversity to it, offering a wide selection of styles (Lindeman’s lambic to New Holland Dragon’s Milk to Two Hearted). It seemed like someone who has an appreciation for craft beer styles was choosing the beers on tap. I had a couple of Two Hearted’s) which tasted clean and fresh. I am reviewing this place after reviewing Winking Lizard, and Gallo’s seems more beer-oriented, despite a smaller number of choices. It’s not just about having the largest selection, but having a thoughtful selection that always contains something that interests me on any given day. Food here…the good news is that the wings were excellent – some of the best I’ve ever had (even though they only come in 4 flavors – again, more choices doesn’t always mean better). The bad news is that my sandwich and fries were a little weak, there isn’t a lot of choice on the menus, and the food took forever – probably 45 minutes. However, our bartender warned us when we ordered that food would take 45 minutes, so I was forewarned. I’d visit Gallo’s again; a good place to drink, eat wings, and watch the game, but a little cramped and a little weak as a place for a full meal.

Just getting around to rating this place, although I’ve been there more times than I can count. All things considered, probably my favorite bar in the Columbus area. The staff is as friendly as you’ll ever encounter, and they can speak to all the beers they carry (which is somewhat extensive). You can tell rapport and knowledge for the craft are very important to the owners. Perfect setting for a sports bar, with plasma screens above the bar and at every booth and a couple of huge projector screens. If your team isn’t playing, you can always entertain yourself with a game of pool, darts, shufflepuck, or Golden Tee. Food is above average pub food - apps like wings and fried ravioli, panini-grilled sandwiches and the like. They offer freshly prepared soups from scratch that are out of this world. I don’t even bother asking what the soup of the day is when I order because I haven’t had a bad one (or even a mediocre one) yet. On to the beer selection: They have a rotating selection of seasonals to keep things interesting, but they have a few awesome staples as well (namely Two Hearted and Dead Guy). They always have one or two Great Lakes beers, which I love to see since they’re the craft brew powerhouse that’s closest to Columbus. Seasonals and special offerings are varied and outstanding. Most recently I enjoyed Founder’s Breakfast Stout on tap (and pretty cheap compared to other places at $8 for 22oz). Solid place as they don’t do anything poorly and most of what they do is exceptional.

This is my new favorite bar. Generally, sports bars for me are a necessary evil - I want to watch the game, with friends, in public. The usual choices in this regard are sadly limited and completely void of personality. I have been to Gallo’s three times now and each time has been an excellent experience. They cover the basics of service, food and beer exceptionally. The service in particular is great. The staff treats you like you a guest, not like an intruder -- which is something that’s hard to find in bars these days. It’s also near impossible to find a bad seat in the house. With this high quality, I will continue to be impressed and will make this my first choice.

To be fair I was pretty well buzzed by the time I got here. But I’m living near by, and I’ll re rate if I feel the need. It’s nice inside, good layout, plenty of TV’s for what it is. The service was pretty good, but it was also dead when I was there. Food was quite good. I had some Pierogies and a sandwich. Both I enjoyed. Beer was a solid ohio selection, any place I can get Two Hearted on tap is a good place in my book. Nothing outstanding by any means, but more than passable.
