The Barely Pub recently (as of Jan/Feb of this year) moved to a new location in Dover. The new location is much larger and absolutely gorgeous. The tap selection has been greatly expanded, there’s a new full menu of tasty food, and there’s a couch with a gas fireplace, which is where I park myself when I stop in. They still have their finger on the pulse of awesome beer, so expect to see some great stuff offered. It’s not like those other beer bars that just have a billion taps of everything they could order for the distributor - this place knows good beer and puts effort into getting the hard-to-find stuff. There’s now table service and a host/hostess station - which is weird to me, having spent nearly a decade drinking at the old spot. They managed to keep the cozy feel in areas, which is great, and there’s some nooks here and there to hang out with a small group of friends. This is still the best beer bar in the area, given the selection and the service. And they now take cards. And they still have live music.

Stopped in here expressly to find beer from The Prodigal Brewery. Found that in addition to one of their beers, they had a very nice tap selection. The bartender was also quite knowledgeable about all of the beers that were available. We also had lunch while we were there. Not a very large menu, but the sandwiches we had were tasty and reasonable priced. The place has a nice "local" feel to it. Certainly not a cookie cutter "brass and fern" type pub. Well worth the stop if in the area.

The bartender was REAL knowledgeable and knew the answers to all my questions. And let me have samples before I made my selections. A great local selection of brews from the Northeast. Proper glassware for every person at the bar.Comfortable seating and a pool table in front and dart boards in the back. A band was playing last, which means a five dollar cover charge. I didn’t eat anything.... I was there for the beer. I got to say, I will be going back to this pub. A older crowd without any collage students running around the place. They will get more of my attention.

One of those bars that has a few taps, a few bottles, but all of them are good choices. Great drink specials, knowledgable staff and something new and interesting (or aged and interesting) every trip in. It is a really horrid music venue, though, and if there’s a band it is always too loud because the place is too small, really, to support it. My favorite thing other than the beer selection are the couches & fireplace - awesome in NH winters. Also home to a contract Smuttynose beer called "Snowblower Sout" that’s only $1.00 if its raining/snowing.

As far as Dover N.H. goes this place is genius. Has a bit of dive bar feel, and I like that. It can be a great value if your favorite beer is part of happy hour. I have not tried the food. Bar tenders are friendly, Lots of regulars. I have not found a better pace Dover/Portsmouth.

A rare find in the Dover area - a place that really knows it’s beers. A varied selection of about 20 taps and 50+ bottles, the man (or woman) who really appreciates beer will like it here. They are even good at recommending a beer they have for your wine drinking or Budweiser drinking friends. It’s not a fancy place, but they do have good beer, the proper glassware and often some good local music.

Good amount of beers on tap and the bartender was pretty knowledgeable. Good local selection. Comfortable seating and a good jazz band playing the night I was there. Proper glassware for the beers I had.

The best beer bar in the state of NH. Now smoke free I’m looking forward to enjoying it even more. They only have 16 taps but they constantly rotate, serve local breweries, even bring out vintage beer from time to time. The staff always seems to be learnign more about the beers and even passionate at times.

A great place to hang out with my friends. Always the best, hard to find, beers on tap. They know their beers
