| BVery (227), Burnsville, Minnesota | | November 17, 2011 Tremendous store - stopped here on Nov. 17, 2011. Huge selection of singles, and if you are looking to pick up MN or WI beers, this is your place. Also a good amount of imported craft beers, as well as others from around the USA. Also saw they had bottles of Surly 5, Darkness, and Smoke sitting in one of the coolers. | | Johnsense (33), , | | September 18, 2011 Great store just before the Miller Hill area. Prices were a bit high for rarer beer, but the selection reminded me of premier in Buffalo, with a midwest twist. Surly, Summit, Schells, rush River, Tyranena are all here, ditto Bells, Great Divide, etc. No New Glarus sadly. Service was great, grabbed several new beers, including Schell Rauch on the owners recommendation. Fairly good selection of Belgians and UK beer as well. The best place in Duluth by far. I’ll be back. | | beerlover12469 (10), Alabama | | January 8, 2011 Great selection but outdated beer! Prices very high! | | OSLO (119), Ames, Iowa | | March 13, 2010 [ Updated March 8, 2011 ] Stopped here on a Saturday afternoon. By far the best beer store that I have been to so far in Northern Minnesota. Lots of singles, with mostly American stuff, but also some Belgians and a few other random countries. Prices are average to a little above. Friendly service. A good place, especially for this region.
Re-rate: Turnover doesn’t seem to be great at this place, and while they do get good stuff, they are unwilling to break up some 6ers, and they are very slow at getting many things in (if they ever do). Cashwise is now almost as good as them, if not better in some ways. | | JMerritt (65), Macomb, Illinois | | May 26, 2009 Stopped on way up to Orr, MN for a fishing trip. A little shop that literally feels like it is collapsing due to the weight of all of the beer inside it. (Really, the floor is sloping towards the middle). A ton of single bottles and six-packs to choose from, but I found the prices a little high. I feel ashamed that I left with some crappy canned beers, but hey - I stopped to get canned beer to keep in the live well of the boat! | | KAF (100), Coralville, Iowa | | November 28, 2008 Great selection of singles. This may be the best bottle shop in MN outside the Twin Cities. They have everything from macros to micros to Belgians. If you’re in Duluth this is a great place to stop in. | | JK (163), Uptown, Minneapolis, Minnesota | | July 1, 2007 Very large selection of singles. Staff was friendly but didn’t offer any help. The location is out of way but the impressive selection makes up for it, especially if you are not coming from the Twin Cities. A few of the beers were on the expensive side. I would guess the selection is more like 500 than 300. | | badgerben (80), Blaine, Minnesota | | June 26, 2007 Finally stopped by here on my last trip up. It’s kind of out of the way and not close to Fitgers, but well worth a stop. Big selection of singles and a few shelves of six packs. Mostly MN/WI/MI beers, but enough to keep people happy. | | auerbrau (232), Peace Dale, Rhode Island | | April 2, 2005 [ Updated January 26, 2006 ] Best selection of beer in Duluth, hands down. Unfortunately, the prices run a little high and the beer sits on the shelf for a while. The guys are very friendly and you can get plenty of singles. Unfortunately, there really aren’t any heavy hitting beers in the stores, especially in terms of Belgians. But, the regional selections aren’t bad. | | MIBRomeo (125), Wisconsin | | March 7, 2005 the man behind the counter (owner I think) was very friendly and new his beer. The store was nothing impressive from the outside but it was full of good beer, with a great selection of singles and we even found a couple things that have been discontinued for a while by Bells.
Dave mentioned to be sure the price is 1/6 the sixer becuase the guy accidentally scanned a couple of my singles that he broke for me from sixers at 6pack price. It was deffinatelly an accident and when I caught it he promptly refunded my money. If I lived in Deluth this would be my store. |
