58 This is a small grocery shop close to Cloisters and we just called in on the off chance. The selection of bottles was surprisingly good, with a few winners. We happened to be there just as a local merchant was making his delivery so we had a chat and were encouraged by his enthusiasm for getting interesting beers into ordinary shops.

58 Visited on 30th October 2016. Stop off on a walking tour from Haymarket to Edinburgh. After taking on refreshments at Cloisters it seemed sensible to pop in. It’s a Spar type local shop with a better than average beer selection. Picked up a couple of Top Out beers here but the range wasn’t that spectacular. Service friendly, prices decent. A decent neighbourhood store with a better than average beer range. |
64 Used to have an impressive selection, not quite as good these days. |
72 Weird little mini market with a decent selection of beer and friendly man behind the counter. Nothing exceptional to be found here, but a few Tempest and various others. |
80 Seems like any small grocery store, then on the selves lots of local, some american and other international beers. Great selection. Shopkeeper knows everything about the beers and breweries and gave great recommendation. |
50 A basic off licence with better selection than your standard offy. Maybe 30 bottles on offer, mostly macro, with a selection of German stuff widely-available American craft (Flying Dog, Goose Island, etc.). By no means is this place a destination, but you need some drinking beers and you are in this neighbourhood then this place should do the trick. |
52 2014-07-09. Convenience store with an okay selection of Scottish beers and imports. Some De Molens that caught my but they were all bottled over a a year ago. We had already stocked up on Scottish beers elsewhere so we didn’t end up buying anything here. Worth poking your head in if you are in the neighbourhood but fairly disappointing today.

66 Convenience store located on Lothian Road in central Edinburgh with a surprisingly large selection of bottled beers & some ciders, including lots of Scottish brewers. Well worth the visit and it’s hard not to come out with a bottle or two. |
60 An ordinary kiosk with an unusual good range of bottled beers. Has got some similarity with the one, Kihoskh, in Copenhagen. I was especially impressed by the selection of bottles from Scottish microbreweries. All of them well arranged on the shelves and reasonably priced. Opens early (08.30) and closes late (22.00). Polite service. Connected to the nearby Brauhaus (information per 10/8), and located next to Cloisters (visited a few times during my stay in Edinburgh, early August 2013). |
