96 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 19/20 JefVerstraete (22) , Belgium | June 17, 2013 Very nice place to visit as beer lover. In my eyes the best beer shop in Belgium. A lot of Belgian beers in all categories, but even better is the large amount of beers from abroad: Danmark, USA, The Netherlands, Norway,... Even very rare beers. Prices are very fair. The service is also very good. Friendly people. The best ’drankencentrale’ of Belgium! | 84 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 happyhoppy (58) , France | June 11, 2013 A warehouse like ambiance for a beer store but they make it up with the selection of beers. An excellent representation of foreign craft beers at really good prices. They even had a few bottles of 3floyds and Cigarcity beers. Other guests include Mikkellers, Stillwater, Evil twin, Jester Kings, Lost abbey and so on.. good representation of the Dutch craft beers too. I found the Belgian beer range to be a little bit pricy (in comparison to Geers). But they did have a good range of the Belgian classics and gueuzes. This adds on to another good beer store in Belgium. | 90 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 17/20 Christian (206) Odense, Denmark | June 7, 2013 This is indeed a "drankencentrale" and not a cosy little neighbourhood shop, but it’s all about the beer, right? Extensive selection of Belgian beer at reasonable prices, personally I was most excited about picking up a couple of new lambiks. Some rare imports are expensive and the really unique ones are just crazy - but what’s the correct price of a beer you really want and can’t get anywhere else - there is nothing unfair about those high prices | 92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 77ships (58) Antwerpen, Belgium | June 5, 2013 Great beer store run by a passionate RB’er. There are basically 3 essential / only beer stores you need to know / visit in Belgium – this is one of them. All the new & interesting releases in Belgium pass through here, if you want the new Belgian stuff, you need to be here or at Willems. This place offers stuff that Willems doesn’t have and vica versa. Of course whilst Willems has only Belgian brews – Hopduvel is one of the few place in Belgium where all the foreign releases pass through. Great selection of Mikkeller, De Molen brews, Brewdog, Evil,… that sort of guys. Plus a lots of USA imports which you are not likely to find anywhere else in Belgium. Very close to the station, only a couple of stops from the station with the tram. Only downsides are – 1) I wish that I lived closer & 2) I always wind up spending way too much money here :) | 94 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 19/20 Leepe_steven (2) Lede, Belgium | May 20, 2013| Updated May 21, 2013 Great range of Belgian and foreign beers, really impressive. | 82 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 Borresteijn (141) Amsterdam, Netherlands | April 28, 2013| Updated May 21, 2013 Visited this Sunday morning. Spacious hall with loads and loads of beers from mostly Belgium, US, Norway, Denmark, and the Netherlands. Prices are good for the abroad stuff, Belgian beers are a bit more expensive than what I’ve seen in for example Leuven, but still very cheap compared to prices in the Netherlands (or Bruges, where I was the day before). Had a nice time strolling around, looking for some good unrated beers, but had a hard time refraining myself not to fill my car to the brim. Great shop. | 98 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 nbutler11 (305) Phoenix, Arizona | March 18, 2013| Updated May 21, 2013 I’ve been to a lot of places, and this is the finest, most extensive, bottle shop I have yet to patron. Screwy hours, but the selection is worth the time to travel to Gent. Epic floorplan that is overwhelming. Only having room in my suitcase for two bottles and walking into this place was torture. Fair prices from my perspective. The only thing they could possibly do to make their selection better is to offer more vintages for some of the bottles, but that’s being exteremly picky. Workers were antsy to leave for their siesta and started turning the lights off, but otherwise world-class experience. Thank you! | 88 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 dasdan (11) , Belgium | March 9, 2013| Updated May 21, 2013 Great selection of belgian and imported beers. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 burilom (4) | January 28, 2013| Updated May 21, 2013 Nice place. Very helpfull staff. Great selection of Belgian beers, imports and other stuff | 92 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 19/20 MOARBEER (7) , Belgium | January 17, 2013| Updated May 21, 2013 Amazing place with ample private client parking right outside. Staff very friendly and helpful. So many beers, so many imports! I spend WAY too much money here but it’s always with pleasure! |
