| gnoff (200), Göteborg, Sweden | | March 31, 2011 [ Updated December 1, 2011 ] Pub for students, run by students?
Not really, but the inital plans probably was something like that. Make sure to check out the website, sometimes during seasons where most students are off the pub can be closed, else open usually Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
This place is open for everyone (18 years and above), not only students. The guys working don’t get paid but do it for fun, usually they’re students or former students.
Prices for food and beer are so low compared to other places in Sweden it’s close to mind blowing.
Not too much on taps, usually Pilsner Urquell plus two guest taps, but loads of bottles, a lot of which is hard to find at other pubs in Göteborg, almost every time can I find a few new beers to rate, and to very very nice prices.
Wednesday and Thursday they have hamburgers or pizza for food at again very low prioces, the pizza for about 6 euro is so big even I have a hard time even finishing it.
Fridays is usually some sort of buffet night when it comes to food.
For the easiest access by public transportation, take the "number 18" bus towards Johanneberg and get off at stop "Spaldingsgatan", then walk towards the water tower. Pretty much straight north.
Most importantly for your visit, please remember the pub accepts CASH only, you must have Swedish currency with you, and there are no ATM machines close by afaik.
Good place for hanging out and trying some nice beers for low prices, I like it a lot. | | Nisse666 (64), Göteborg, Sweden | | February 18, 2011 [ Updated March 31, 2011 ] Just home from first visit in 15 years, same interior with the same worned apperance. Loads of special beers to extremly good pub prices compared to other swedish pubs. Minus: hard to get u there in an easy (if you not a student at Chalmers and live in the water tower).
Food was cheep but not good this time...
I had previosly some comments regading bad behavours regariding a certain SB release. This was not true - this pub purchases directly from the different suppliers :-) Sorry!
And yeah - cash is king!!! |
