| Savvy1982 (53), Lethbridge, Alberta | | February 25, 2012 Stopped in during my latest Grand Forks beer run. Very small place, with a very respectable draft selection. Only 3 or 4 crap.pale lagers out of the 30-40 taps they had on. Nice, if eclectic, selection, with a few one offs (Teton Grand Saison Apricot), and some nice surprises. Service was prompt, friendly, and surprisingly knowledgeable. Food was a bit of a letdown. Burgers were good, but the fries were awful. Maybe next time I’ll get my burger with chips instead. | | northropfrye (47), Steinbach, Manitoba | | January 5, 2012 Definitely the best place for beer in Grand Forks. They have a lot of decent stuff on tap. Nothing ultra-rare, but definitely good stuff. Nice service, and decent burger-type food. | | piscator34 (33), Winnipeg, Manitoba | | November 23, 2011 Stopped by a couple of times during a US shopping weekend. The place was packed on both Friday night and even mid afternoon on Saturday. The place had a fairly goood selection of US micros on draft (especially when you consider how isolated Grand Forks is) with only a couple of crappy macros taking up tap space. The food ok. I would have expected the burgers and fries to be better, simply because it’s the ONLY thing they make here. The service was always friendly and prompt. I think the biggest issue is the lack of seating. If the building was a bit bigger and they had a few more tables, it would make for a far more comfortable experience. Overall, this is definitely the "go-to" beer spot in Grand Forks... just make sure you come during off peak hours if you want to be seated right away. |
