10 reviews for Ridgeview Liquor
| esjaygee (103), Oak Creek, Wisconsin | | August 15, 2009 Decent selection of Wisconsin and National beers and a bunch of closeout foreign beers at great prices. Everything was available as a single bottle, which is always great, though the prices were a touch high when bought that way. A lot of the beers was in coolers along the back and plenty of New Glarus and the discount stuff were on shelves. Staff was friendly and pointed some stuff out, so that was nice. The main drawback is the headache I got while in the store because the cooler doors and front door all made loud annoying buzzer noises when opened, not sure how someone working there all day long could deal with it. | | BeerBelcher (130), Columbus, Ohio | | April 26, 2009 I was in Green Bay recently, and looking for a place where I thought I could get some WI-brewed beers (specifically Tyranena Brewers Gone Wild beers) to take home with me, and a website directed me here. And it didn’t take long to figure out that I was in the right place. One of the two co-proprietors directed me to the craft beers on clearance, some others in warm storage, and the majority in the cooler. And I found what I was looking for - Tyranena, New Glarus, Central Waters, Ale Asylum, and others. The guy helping me in the store (he had a gray moustache) even went so far to check in the back for more Tyranena beers (he had some Hop Whore stashed back there, but that wasn’t what I was looking for). Prices, at least what I’m compared to in OH (rip-off) were extremely reasonable.
All-in-all, I had a really nice visit to this store and got what I was looking for from the experience. | guerinfbfan (3), Elmwood Park, Illinois does not count - explanation | | March 21, 2009 I really liked this place. I loved the fact that they allowed you to make your own six packs, plus the discount that you received after creating your own was an added plus. They had a nice variety of good micros. Very friendly staff, I had a nice conversation with the owner. Very good store overall. | | KAF (68), Coralville, Iowa | | February 25, 2009 The owners (I think they were the owners) were great. They were very helpful with everything. There were Central Waters Brewers Reserve beers that I did not see anywhere else in GB. They also had Founders and some other good brews. I was allowed to make my own six pack from other six packs which was nice. I think the best part was the staff, they actually cared. | Merrill (3), Chicago, Illinois does not count - explanation | | February 4, 2009 I looked for this place after looking here. Big place and most every beer is cold. Very nice collection of regionals and what I suppose would be unexpectedly broad range of American crafts. Founders, Bell’s Goose Island, Southern Tier, but some therefor surprising gaps. What the hey, they have lots that I never see in Chicago. Weyerbacher for instance. Very nice man running the place when I was there. Walked right up and said "I be glad to answer any questions - know quite a bit, too! Nearly all the beers could be mixed in 4, 6 packs then priced indiveually and then a discount is applied to the batch! Go there. | | SHANER4 (16), Green Bay, Wisconsin | | July 28, 2008 Probably the best place that I have found in Green Bay to purchase microbrews. Woodmans is ok but selecting a variety pac that you actually want is almost impossible. The service at ridgeview is good and like talking beer. | | Jabswitch (10), Green Bay, Wisconsin | | March 8, 2008 Friendly service. Owner is willing to try to find a beer if you request. I have never had a problem with non-rotated beer that you sometimes find in a small store. This is a small operation so they don’t carry large quantities but have an excellent selection. If you are in the Green Bay area, it is definitely worth a visit. | cjzirb (1), does not count - explanation | | October 17, 2007 Nice selection that is updated often. They now let you select single bottles right out of the cooler. Best selection I can find. | thefatkid13 (4), does not count - explanation | | February 6, 2007 thanks to Juelze for letting me know this place had some decent beer.
it’s as pretty straight-ahead liquor store. not much to write home about. pretty wide open and sparsely populated but they have some decent craft beer that can’t be found elsewhere in the area. not much of it mind you but it’s there. i wonder how often they rotate their stock.
there are better places locally but this one is worth a stop if you live here. | | Juelze (18), Green Bay, Wisconsin | | December 31, 2006 [ Updated November 12, 2007 ] This is a small liquor store that has a good selection of different beers. Living in Green Bay the selection is essentially limited to Woodman’s Grocery store. However, there are beers that this store gets that I can’t find anywhere with a hours drive. They have Great Lakes, Oskar Blues, Southern Tier, Schlenkerla, some DFH, Unibroue, New Glarus and a lot of other misc. brews. The cool thing is they change all the time so each visit to the store yields new surprises. The staff is very friendly and although not beer connoisseurs, they have a healthy respect for different kinds of beers. The owner actually told me that he wishes he could have more of the single bottles and other craft beer. He basically said, and I paraphrase I don’t want to have multiple facings of BMC because you can get that anywhere. I prefer to have displays of the good stuff. |
